I couldn't be more excited about The Ron-Ron Era. Everything is absolutely golden right now – seven straight at home, three straight and four of five overall, an incredibly improved defense, a smooth offense, a quality rotation. Life is grand.(Yeah, the team is still five games under .500, still in last place in the division, still way out of the playoffs. A multiple-week injury to any of Mike Bibby, Ron Artest and Brad Miller would be devastating. Kevin Martin is absolutely playing out of his gourd, which probably won't last. Francisco Garcia is overachieving on the defensive end. Kenny Thomas, who has been productive 75 percent of the time since The Jaw Incident, might be shipped out any day now. Jason Hart has not only lost the collective fanbase's confidence, but obviously that of the coaching staff, leaving us with starting small forward Ron Artest and backup small forward Francisco Garcia as our primary backup point guards. Shareef Abdur-Rahim can breathe, but is probably weeks away from getting his body back together. Bonzi Wells could be on the shelf for another month.)
All that said, screw it. This is the most fun I've had watching the Kings since before Webber's return in the 2003-04 season. Mitigated expectations and reserved hope be damned. This is what being a fan is all about – getting excited and having fun.
Let's go Kings.
