I'll tell you where it comes from, what seed is grew from.
Los Angeles.
To the lineups in this battle of good and evil!
THE LAKERS OF MORDOR
PG – Smush Parker
SG – Kobe Bean Bryant
SF – Devean George
PF – Lamar Odom
C – Chris Mihm
THE SILVER KNIGHTS OF SACRAMENTO
PG – King Michael I
SG – Kevin Martin II, Earl of Zanesville
SF – Predrag the Assassin
PF – Kenneth Cornelius, Duke of Albuquerque
C – Sir Bradley Alan Miller
The line: Even. Because, you know, all's fair in love and war. I'm not going to come out and say take Bibby's team. But, um, take Bibby's team!
Fun bet o' the night: Raucousness of Shareef's ovation. When he gets the call off the bench – holy crap. I'm getting tingly thinking about it. (Yes, it's January and my team is five games under .500. Sue me.)
Sideshow most likely to be entertaining: Kobe Bean's quest to put 40 points up in Sacramento. I say let him. Or Kerrigan his ass.
Best matchup: Odom vs. Kenneth Cornelius/Julius Shareef. Without doubt, KT is going to be pumped, trying to convince Adelman he belongs in the starting lineup. Julius is on his path of redemption, which will ultimately end in the visceral bloodletting of one Zachary Randolph. If these guys can hold on Lamar, it's a win.
Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for the Laker porn over the past few days. In a season of mostly darkness, beating the Show at home would be a strong beacon of light and hope. And it'll be fun. And I don't want to lose my blog bet with Kurt at Forum Blue and Gold. Because if I do, he'll probably post that Horry shot again. Or Mark Madsen. God, please not Mark Madsen.
7:30 on TNT. It. Is. On!
