GAME 70/82: vs Golden State, Open Game Thread

By | 0 Comments | Feb 14, 2019

It don't get no easier.

Golden State is (ahem) hot. They've won one out of their last one games! Woohoo!

In all seriousness, though: The Dubs are the best 10-games-under-.500 team in the West. So, you know, look out.

Good thing this game is in the friendly confines of ARCO, where the Kings just don't lose. In fact, they don't even let teams stay close.

During the 14-game home winning streak, the Kings have outscored opponents 1,472 to 1,263 – an average of 14.9 points per game. That's pretty nice.

So when you see that the Kings are only 7 point favorites against the 10-game-below-.500 Dubs tonight, I think you know what suggestion I'm going to make when it comes to betting.

(Also of note, something I've hesitated to mention thus far: If the Kings happen to win out on the home floor this season, the streak will reach 21 games. That would be a franchise record.)

Knock on wood! And, um, let's hit those lineups:

GOLDEN STATE
PG – Derek Fisher
SG – Jason Richardson
SF – Mike Dunleavy
PF – Troy Murphy
C  – Adonal Foyle

SACTOWN
PG – Myke Bybby, The Bibbilicious Bibbinator
SG – Bonzi Wells, Thug for Life
SF – Ron Artest, MVKing
PF – Kenny Thomas, post abuser
C  – Brad Miller, comme ci comme ca.

The line: -7. Yeah, give the points.

Fun bet o' the night: Jason Richardson at +/- 22. I might take the over if I didn't think Ron-Ron was going to be JRich's dancing partner.

Sideshow most likely to be entertaining: Will the Warriors make a trade this offseason? Is Chris Mullin in a coma? Knowing the rest of the West is working to get better, how could you not throw in Ike Diogu for a deal for Ron Artest? Mullin should be out right behind Mike Montgomery. (And Baron Davis, actually. That guy ain't delivering.)

Best matchup: JRich vs. Ron-Ron. Richardson actually went for 40 Thursday at Dallas, which included possibly the most ridiculous game-winning three I've seen in the pros. Let's hope Mr. Beast brings the locks.

Goal tracker update: A game back from the Lakers, two games up on the Hornets, three up on the Jazz.

Six o'clock tip. Let's go Kings. Loud and proud, ARCO denizens! It's on!
