Peja Moves On Again

By | 0 Comments | Feb 14, 2019

Maybe it's like sending unreturned e-mails to that ex-girlfriend and driving slowly by her house to see if there are two cars in the driveway… but we Kings fans are sure to have some sense of wistfulness upon the news that Peja Stojakovic has, on the first day of free agency, signed to play for the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, leaving the Indiana Pacers after just over half a season, where he logged a 19.5 points per game average in forty contests.

Stojakovic started his NBA career as a King in the 1998-99 season, initially playing second fiddle to Chris Webber, and later attaining All-Star status in 2002, 2003 and 2004, after becoming one of the league's most-feared three-point shooters. The Hornets picked him up for the low, low price of… $64 million over the span of his new five year contract.

Ron Artest, whom the Kings obtained from the Pacers in exchange for Stojakovic partway through the 2005-2006 campaign, is signed through the 2007-2008 season.
