It's that time of year Kings fans. Break out your calendars because the 2014-2015 NBA schedule has been released, and there are some DOOZIES this year. You guys have questions and I've got answers:
When Is The Home Opener?
The Kings kick off the season at home again this year! Make sure you grab your tickets EARLY because we're taking on our I-80 West rivals the Golden State Warriors on October 29th! I don't want to see any blue at Sleep Train people!
Do We Have Any Nationally Televised Games This Year?
Oh boy do we! The Kings will be on National TV SEVEN times this year. Six of those games will be at home, and we're not just talking NBA TV here guys. We'll be playing on TNT twice this year and once on ESPN.
Bulls vs Kings – Nov 20th TNT
Pacers vs Kings – Dec 5th NBA TV
Rockets vs Kings – Dec 11th TNT
Pistons vs Kings – Dec 13th NBA TV
OKC vs Kings – Dec 16th ESPN
Knicks vs Kings – Dec 27th NBA TV
Kings @ Wizards – Mar 14th NBA TV
When's Isaiah's Homecoming?
I hope you're ready to celebrate Boxing Day with the Pizza Guy. The Suns will be visiting Sacramento for the first time (post-trade) on Dec 26th
When Can We Boo The Clippers?
Circle January 17th on your calendars because that'll be the first time you'll get a chance to boo Spencer Hawes at Sleep Train this season. You'll get a second crack at it on March 18th.
When Do We Get To See The Kings Beat The Lakers?
We'll be defeating the Lakers (and what's left of their fan base) at home, Dec 21st, and Apr 13th. #NoYellow
When Are Lebron, Klove, And The Cavs Coming To Sac?
The new-look Cleveland Cavaliers will be in town for a 6pm Sunday night game, January 11th.
Longest Road Trip?
The Kings will play seven road games in ten nights from March 4th to the 14th.
Whats The Longest Home Stand?
The Kings will play Seven home games in a row from January 7th to the 17th. But December is by far the friendliest month for the Kings. They'll play eleven of fourteen games at home in December and don't even leave the state of California that month until the 29th.
When's the Season Finale And Who Do We Play?
The Kings wrap up their season with a home-and-away against the Lakers, April 13th and 15th. #NoYellow!
Whoa, What's Up With The All-Star Break?
The NBA has extended the All-Star Break this year. The Kings are actually getting nine full days off between regular season games.
Miscellaneous Interesting Facts:
1. Hand to god… we'd heard the Kings were going to open the season at home against Isaiah Thomas and the Phoenix Suns. However, it appears that the schedule could have changed between last week and today when it was finally released. And judging by the schedule Grant Napear had on his show this afternoon, that appears to be the case.
2. The Kings are playing at home (against the Spurs Nov 15) on my birthday again. BRING SOUR PATCH KIDS.
