NBA.com’s annual GM survey is out, and while the league’s decision-makers generally don’t vote for the Sacramento Kings in many categories, Marvin Bagley III did get some love in the Rookie of the Year predictions.
Bagley and his Duke teammate Wendell Carter Jr each received 17% of the vote, tying for second place in the GM votes. First place went to SOMEBODY FROM THE DALLAS MAVERICKS WHO SHALL NOT MENTION BECAUSE DOING SO MEANS WE’RE BABIES THROWING A TANTRUM. That player earned 43% of the votes.
The survey also asked which rookie would be the best player in five years. Bagley placed 4th, with 13% of the vote.
The Kings were completely shut out of the category about which young player will have a breakout year (not even a single King listed as “also receiving votes”), and unmentioned in responses to the question “which team has the best young core?”
But hey, De’Aaron Fox got a vote for being the fastest player with the ball, so the future is pretty bright.
