Some great draft info and possible FA or trade additions . Team needs to get bigger and longer at wing and power spots for certain .
Holy moly, a nearly two hour podcast! Looks like I got something to listen to while I work on Photoshop stuff this weekend!
Two hour pod, timestamps would be appreciated.
As for the draft or any player brought in I don’t want him if he can’t shoot. Full stop.
Haven’t people figured out that drafting skill over athleticism is the way of the NBA?
The Kings cannot afford another poor shooter because Sabonis is a brick, not to mention Huerter/Barnes/Davion in playoffs.
The teams that win have shooters at all positions, except maybe 1 player, and can play enough D. And shooters who actually make shots in the playoffs.
Go get skilled players. Shooters only. Hopefully some D too.
The playoffs seem to show year after year that if you’re a weak link on D, you will be targeted until you’re unplayable. Guys showing at the least a willingness to play defense is the bare minimum to crack this rotation.
That is true but the same goes for non shooters on O. D gets to play 5-4 cause don’t have to guard non shooter/let him shoot. Can’t have non shooters out there.
And on D they go at the liabilities but, like Steph, you can get away with 1 on D.
Don’t be surprised if Sabonis develops a 3 point shot this off-season. After the Warriors exploited his 3 in the playoffs, he literally said right after that’s the main thing he is going to work on in the off-season. How can someone not work on their three after being embarrassed on national TV like that? Sabonis is going to have a chip on his shoulder because of it. More importantly, next year will be a contract year for Sabonis. He will be very motivated to impress.
I hope so but I’m a bit dubious. Pretty sure Sabonis spent last off season working on his 3. It was a tad better but desperately needs a reliable mid range. The O stopped because of no mid range.
Players have a hard time learning to shoot, so I’m very unsure w Sabonis.
The Rayan Rupert erasure shall not stand.
some good prospects in this podcast. Getting one or two nba players on economic rookie deals would really help the team avoid problems in the near future with depth and salary cap. It would be a home run.
Lots of long armed quick footed defense ready wings: Coulibaly, O-Max, Andre Jackson, Sidy Cissoko, Julian Phillips, Rayan Rupert and a few other 6’5” to 6’7” guys who have questionable ability to shoot and/or score.
Sound a lot like last season’s Dyson Daniels who is a lot like Sac’s Kessler Edwards.Sac’s already got that.
I like the scoring wings: Brice Sensabaugh and IF he is healthy enough to remain healthy Dariq Whitehead. Guys who can already shoot and can score. If it makes you feel better, think of them as Euro players.
Either that or get a big project (like a James Nnaji, Noah Clowney) or best player available. Podzinski, Sheppard, Nick Smith regardless of position.
This comes from the person who was absolutely convinced that Adam Morrison was the bomb – and he just bombed.
