Don’t envy Monte’s position rn. Everyone agrees we’re probably a piece or so away from title contention, but what that piece is and how you acquire it is entirely up for debate.

Would Lyles be a good enough 5th option in the starting lineup? Offensively and on the glass yes, but he’s not gonna move the needle on defense which is where we really need a personnel upgrade.

OG or Pascal would be awesome, but if we have to ship out 2-3 rotation players to get them, are we gaining enough on net to push us over the top?

Caruso, Williams, and some other role players around the league could be good pickups, but is the Caru-Show the difference between the Kings winning an NBA title or not? Unlikely. But maybe 2-3 key role players in the composite would be enough?

Every move comes with a drawback. It’s not so easy as to just get a good player, it’s about the dynamic of what you’re giving up – and you can’t ignore this roster’s chemistry as a potential cost of an acquisition either.

Imo this coming trade deadline and offseason will be the most interesting and consequential of McNair’s tenure. Excited to see what happens. In Monte We Trust.

Really agree with Lyles playing more and some at backup center .
