I just read that the King’s might trade Devin Carter for Westbtook. What’s happening in the minds of the King’s front office? Or Vivek’s? I can understand wanting to trade Carter but let’s do it to help the team not push them lower on the totem pole if that is feasible. If you are going to trade Carter get somebody like Peyton Watson who is up and coming can play defense and be around for awhile. It might take a second but it’s worth it to me. If not Carter then Ellis and a protected first for Tari Eason. Or do both.

Westbrook is a free agent, not sure how they trade Carter for Westbook. Unless you mean that they trade Carter to a random team to create a roster spot for for Westbrook.

As for the what’s happening in the minds of the front office? Trust me, nobody wants to venture into that realm.

Minds of the front office, you say? My theory is all of the recent pinky and thumb injuries the players have had is due to the forced over utilization of the “shaka” sign that someone requires them to do for every photo shoot.

I see ya back there, Jerry!

FWIW – sometimes Vivek looks like a mad doctor; ready to perform a horrible experiment.

One guard out , one guard in and one young player out and old player in . Makes perfect sense in Vivek star chase strategy !

Whatever happened to your obsession with Anthony Black, Jack? Carter for Black works out.

I had Monk for Black and Jett Howard. If Murray wasn’t hurt I would consider Carter for Black. IMO he would be a really good backup to Schroder and eventually become the King’s starting point guard. I had Carter for Peyton Watson and now because of what has happened to Murray even more so. IMO there is nobody on the team right now comes close to replacing Murray. I still think a trade using Ellis because of the Rocket’s circumstances could get the King’s Tari Eason. Ellis is a backup where as Eason is a starter.

The Ringer dropped their Top 100 Player’s List.

28: Fox
32: Domas
72: Lavine
73: DDR

This is a sad franchise. Nothing to look forward to. No player development. One step forward, two steps back. And I respect The Ringer for putting Lavine and DDR where they belong, heck I’d say DDR should be in the 90s at this point.

To those who actually plan to watch Kangz’ games this season, I have one word for you: Godspeed.

I’m hoping by mid-season that DDR, Lavine, and Monk has built up enough value to be traded for picks and/or younger players with upside that fit the modern NBA.

Lavine is fine. His offense is much needed on any team, but defensively, and with the logjam at SG (Keon/Nique), moving him for a SF/PF would be the better option moving forward. I don’t expect anything big to happen, but one can hope!

Just my take, but they have Fox far too high and Sabonis too low. Fox really shouldn’t be ahead of Ja, Tre, and Maxey. Ranking Sengun a full 10 spots ahead of Sabonis seems a bit premature.

Listening to this episode AFTER Westbrook was signed definitely added some unintentional hilarity to the proceedings. Thank you all for the work you fellas do with this podcast. Always a big highlight of my workday when a new episode comes out.
