Fox needs to take some time for that finger
Maybe, but wasn’t it already like that earlier this season when he scored 60 one night and 49 the next?
It could have gotten worse with the wear amd tear of the season (?) He definitely doesn’t look lolenhe can shoot consistently well. Even layups are iffy at times now for him.
That does make sense. He has definitely struggled lately, so either that or he is just going through a down period, seems like he does this once or twice (or more) every season. Hard to tell at this point although it does not look good.
Yeah he smoked a layup with his right hand that he obviously should of used his left
He can’t straighten out his pinky finger since the dislocation. I think it’s surgery or just play through it. I don’t know what the right answer here is.
Finger comes up at 4:25.
That was stated early in year I believe. It won’t heal without surgery.
But maybe couple days off will be less pain?
It’s a bummer. And Fox always has some lingering -long term (1/2 season type) injury it seems.
Would be ni
I saw that yesterday. It looks bad. Rub some dirt on it and go do your best, apparently.
Yeah, I had a buddy send me that vid. Seeing the finger makes me appreciate how tough the kings players have been in not missing games.
70% Fox is better than 100% J-Mac, Colby, etc.
Untreated injuries get worse with use ya know
Hell yea. Banging that thing a dozen times a day or so is a real drag on your mental health. Long f*cking season that way.
I’ve broken four fingers myself which has no parallel to Fox of course but it’s a nice memory of youth sports I suppose.
Monk needs to take some time for Fox’s finger.
I have some personal experience with this type of injury, just guessing based on his words and how it looks. I think he tore the tendon to his second knuckle.
I did this on my ring finger in college. I was able to play through it the same way by taping it to the adjoining fingers. I got used to it and it didn’t affect me much.
Some differences are mine was the ring and protected by the middle and pinkie more, I would think the pinkie is worse. Also, mine was on my off hand and Fox’s is on his shooting hand, also worse.
It requires surgery and I was told back then it would be 4 months give or take.
Mine still does not straighten all the way. If you wait too long for the surgery the tendon shortens and reconnecting requires more and more PT and stretching after. This was in the late 80s I’m sure the surgeries are better now.
Well, at least they didn’t give up. Fox playing 40 minutes on a SEGABABA with a finger that is obviously affecting him with shooting and dribbling, along with the recent fall, seems like a bad idea.
Ellis played 21 minutes tonight.
McDermott should be playing over Huerter moving forward (yeah, Huerter is that bad).
Carter looked outmatched tonight, again. Hope he can acclimate soon and start giving decent minutes.
On to the next one. Go Kings!
I’m not saying Carter looked great, and I don’t expect him to become a savior, but 2:30 minutes is very little time to get into a flow and settle down.
And 21 minutes for Ellis on a b2b while Fox is logging 40 is really puzzling.
Doug is becoming a bit more Brown-like with his rotations, it seems.
I don’t get why Keon has been playing less either. Reduce some minutes for Fox, as he isn’t right physically.
Kings have 7 guys that are rotational minutes worthy right now. Keon and Trey might need a few more minutes to balance out the starters minutes.
I think it was a matchup issue last night. Keon was getting outmuscled by Westbrook and Fox was doing a better job with him.
Keon seems to handle defending quickness and speed better than strength.
Didn’t see the game, just the box score. Nice Thibs esque iron man minutes for Fox, Sabonis and DeRozan!
Wow! Definitely thought the game was over for most of the 4th quarter. The fig!ht in this team is incredible! Just fell too far behind for it to matter. Doug McD sure can get hot during short stretches where they are way behind. Would love to see him do it when they are more in the game!

I’ve heard all this somewhere before…
Could be! It took so long to post I thought it dropped!
Peja vu!
And thanks for commenting on the actual content!
And rec’d for fig!ht
Best 9 point loss I’ve seen a Kings team post in memory.
This is a loss a fan can fan about (this fan, anyway).
Yeah, I was downtrodden after the 3rd quarter but this ended up being a satisfying loss, if there is such a thing.
This is how I described my divorce.
Sounds like you actually ended up with a victory, all things considered.
Did she get half your pants too?
Half of no pants is still no pants!
&ct=g
But is half of pants just a pant? I’ve literally wondered about this my entire life.
Is a single fence board a fent. These are the things that I come to the TKH threads for answers.
Don’t be silly. 1/2 pants are just called shorts.
Or leg warmers if it’s the other half.
and yet there still exists -the trouser (not trousers) snake
Most scheduled, schedule loss that was ever scheduled. I would have been fine if they rested the starters tonight.
The All Star break can’t come soon enough. Fox needs to rest.
Playing this team, on a back to back after a late game in Sac… this team would’ve lost by 30 points a few months ago. They almost won. If there was a 5th quarter they might have. There’s just no one big or strong enough to stop Jokic.
Really wish Fox had gotten surgery on his finger back in October, First two months were a waste anyways. Playing the entire season with a messed up finger isn’t going to get him the all-NBA nod.
Not good for Fox but better for the Sacramento Kings if he doesn’t get it, isn’t it? Smaller contract for the franchise player for a small market team is big picture good if you are every other human on earth beside Fox and family. Should we be happy that DeAaron’s left pinky finger has temporarily taken the form of a steel mounting bracket?
One thing that bothered me last night was Jokic how easily he backed down Sabonis again and again and again. Once he does that we might have doubled him from the front then he might of had to pass the ball out of the double team. The other thing and it has shown all year why we need another big on this team. Really go out muscled a lot under the basket.
ain’t no one in the league jokic isn’t backing down easily if he is doing it to sabonis, I don’t know who you think is stopping him lol
Which is why Jack was suggesting slowing him down by doubling with a 2nd big.
Totally agree. And why I have been pushing hard for a trade for Jonas V. Jonas did the same thing to Domas. So did A. Davis.
Domas is GREAT at many things and I love his effort but rim protection and big strong centers are his kryptonite.
Jonas would be a great get for sure, just can’t give up Lyles to get him
Yeah definitely better for the franchise if he doesn’t get super max
On thge other hamd, with the 65-game treshhold, you can imagine that some players that have a chance at a Supermax would forego surgery, given the financial ramifications.
i understand that they installed that rule to combat rest management, but I don’t like it.
For sure, he isn’t making it now though with his statistical run
Not great, but expected. On to the next one.
Can someone please explain the difference between an index finger and a pinky finger to our play by play guy?
Give Dougie all of Kevin’s minutes.
give Keon all of Kevin’s minutes.
Fixed for ya
Yes
We knew it was a schedule loss, and we knew it was a buzzsaw running into one of the GOATs, but we showed fight, and I’ll take that over the years of malaise and defeat we’ve seen.
And 1, mildly interesting that our last three games, we’ve scored 123 points, and the last four games have all been variations of 1-2-3 (132 against Houston).
Let’s score 213 on the Knicks tomorrow!
Looking at some Net Rating data for the past 13 games, the Kings have been terrible in the 1st half of games. The 2nd half, they have been so much better. They really need to figure out how to be better earlier in games so the 2nd half isn’t such a huge charge to get back in to games.
How…Maybe more smelling salts before tip-off?
They seem to deter to others too often. Someone needs to take charge and go get some buckets early. Defensively, the sense of urgency is just not there in the 1st half most nights.
