Portlandia Dance! Kings Win!
Seems like it’s been so long…

Shout out to my ticket rep, Jessica for getting two seats for my son and me on the court. Comfortable easy win and awesome jumbo shrimp and margarita at halftime. It’s nice living like a 1%er even for a short time.
Sounds so awesome!
Congrats!
Color me shocked that replacing monk in the starting group with keon and bringing monk off the bench balanced things on the offensive and defensive side of things…to bad no one could of seen that months ago
Such a novel concept that none of us could have imagined.
Egos are a thing – especially at this level. I have no doubt that DC saw the same things we were all seeing, but as we learned with Fox, professional athletes (unfortunately) have to be coddled a bit.
My guess is that Christie used the opportunity of Malik being out to sit down with him and discuss this change. Monk clearly needed some additional time to process it, which could be done under the cover of his illness (which I think was initially legit but was extended a bit in order to facilitate all of this).
If the above is true, I’d be shocked if this isn’t the lineup going forward for the rest of the season. My bigger question is, will Monk now ask out over the summer due to this.
Because again….athletes and egos.
EDIT: I’ve read that Monk was originally in the starting lineup and even announced pre-game. Christie noted this was an error at the scorer’s table (which I believe) and that Monk was totally fine with the change (which I don’t believe) – especially because DC went WAY out of his way to compliment Monk on his professionalism.
The end of the Chicago-LA game was great.
That was crazy! Giddey & Co. were on a mission. Nothing more cathartic to a Kings fan than seeing the Lakers lose on a buzzer beater.
Really enjoyed watching Deni Advija tonight (and the entire season). Wondering why this front office didn’t go after him since a 3 and d wing is exactly what the team lacked since the Beam Team.
The Blazers got him for the 14th pick and a future first round pick. You’re telling me the Kings couldn’t have offered their pick and a future first to beat that offer? I’d much rather have had Deni over Demar going forward.
Great job by this Blazers front office of acquiring talent.
I really really do not want to play the Warriors in the play-in. Beyond sick of that team and their fans.
Wanted them to lose, but nice to see the team play the way they’re supposed to. Like aggressive Keegan and aggressive LaVine. Keon with 6 steals!
I think the shot distribution was maybe the best since the trade deadline. LaVine getting 18 shots and hitting 13! Keon with 7 shots and other 3 starters with 10-11 shots. Monk with 9 shots off the bench.
Finally?
Christie in reply to whether he is contemplating keeping Keon in a starting role:
”…Malik in a sixth man role is spectacular…”
Fun win, especially for me.
Also, WTF is going on in Memphis.
