The Sacramento Kings overcame an injury to Malik Monk (sprained ankle), some horrendous officiating, and a myriad of self-inflicted errors, and escaped the desert with an overtime win over the Phoenix Suns.
Full recap to follow, but for now let’s see those dance gifs!
Suns got burnt!

DeMar + De’Aaron = DeFourthQuarterClutch
Domas, Demar, DeAaron bringing that energy!

Has Sacramento ever had a bucket-getter like DeMar? Ever?
What a treat watching these two in that OT!
Is it time for a (Suns)dance thread?

Let’s go!

does this qualify as a good win? Just curious. Don’t want ton turn this into a downer but every time the kings win it is a whole lot of “yea buts” (and it gets amplified even more when the kings lose).
IMO, this is the best kings team of the LTB era. Total gamers, even in the games where they can’t hit the side of the barn they are competitive. Can hang your hat on DeMar, Domas, Fox; Keegan has added facets to his game that were simply not there even last year; Huerter back with confidence; Keon as a legit defensive glue guy; Monk (get better!)
Can Monte add one more piece? I dunno, but I sure am excited to find out
We got a glimmer of the Trey Lyles we’ve been looking for. His best game of the few games, few minutes he’s played this young season.
That would expand the bench in an area they need depth (Domas fouled out!)
I’ll bite… “yeah, but” 29.7% from three? That’s actually great, by this year’s standards, but just seems like an anomaly. They suck from 3 so far this year. Are they still doing pre-game shootarounds in the practice facility instead of on the arena floor? If so, it’s still not working, and it’s just asinine.
That overtime was glorious, by the way. ????
To add, 3pt shooting for anyone not named Huerter was 6-28 (21%). Tremendous grit by the team to pull out this win but they make it harder on themselves every game with the crappy 3pt shooting.

Dance!
Shining as bright as a beam!
Beam me up!
What’s up with the “full recap to follow” trend?
They enjoy life outside of serving you.
They’re just peeling off them Ziller Bucks
Slapping them down
One hundred, two hundred!
Tough, gritty win. I wish they took care of business sooner in this game, but a tremendous effort down the stretch against some heinous officiating to take the W. Say what you will about this team, they don’t ever stop fighting.
Great win!
Fuck the Refs
Reading the game thread, one would think that the Kings got blown out by 30 points.
Huerter with the DPOG crown!

Looks like Huerter is patting McLaughlin’s head.
I don’t see and understand the game as well as 99% of the commenters, but I thought his length and tenacity bothered Booker on his shot at the end of regulation. Generally his defense seems much improved from two years ago.
Fox shared the ball. Huerter was great on both sides of the ball. Derozan is like a robot when he gets going. Sabonis held his own once again. Lyles played basketball today. Keegan with 14 and 14.
They took care of the basics today. Scoring is not hard for this team. Extending a lead and maintaining a lead is hard for this team.
DeRozan and Fox in the 4th and OT were INSANE. This team can’t hit a 3 to save its life but they’re so good at everything else. What a weird team.
A win in Arizona! Go Kings!
This team…
I don’t even think they know what to expect on a nightly basis.
DDR is the rug of this team.
A very solid win….
This team fight hard…give credit to Keegan, love how he crushes the broad all the time
I hope Malik is Okay. Haven’t heard anything.
Will miss tonight. Day to day.
It’s Double Mac Time! (Jordan McLaughlin and Doug McDermott)
