It wasn’t pretty for most of the game, but the Kings got the win anyway. Full recap to follow, but for now let’s see those gifs!

Fox bounced back game!
&ct=g
awesome game by Fox. He’s definitely been inconsistent this year. I think Fox and Monk are the most inconsistent and Ellis and Domas are the most consistent.
Fox and Monk have the highest ceilings also, so I guess that makes sense.
Fox and monk together should only be like 10-12 min a game max
Thank god the front office doesn’t listen to anything on this site.
What are you watching lol…
I loved Fox in his first contract. Still like the guy, but he’s not the same. Not as happy, I hate his press conferences (just seems like he doesn’t care about results of games, and kinda rude to media), and he’s probably the worst perimeter team defender on the team. 1V1, he’s solid when he wants to be…but every time our team is working hard and making the ball move from player to player on defense, it ends with a wide open 3 pointer made from the guy Fox is guarding. Keon and Keegan (2K?) do phenomenal work to force the extra pass, and Fox is 6 feet off his guy and late to close out, every time.
Fox will never be the worst perimeter team defender as long as Malik Monk wears a Kings jersey. And I’m not dogging Monk, and any set of defensive metrics basically back this up. Fox is arguably the 3rd or 4th best defender in the core rotation, depending on how you rate him vs. Sabonis.
I don’t watch the pressers, so that does not jade my opinion of Fox.
You’re reaching. A lot. He’s not bubbly to media, he’s never seemed rude to me. Not caring about results of games? Come on man. In regard to the team perimeter D… Again, you are reaching. Might not be your intention but this entire comment feels like a desperate attempt to find something bad, anything bad after he just had a great game.
Yeah, 30 points on 19 shots is very efficient.
Four thoughts.
Christie has to solve these slow starts.
Fun hearing the Nets arena chanting Light the Beam!
I know people will keep talking about trading Fox until we start winning some playoff games. But I hope they will trust that he knows if he is healthy enough to play or not.
There is never ever any reason to use the word pulchritudinous in calling a basketball game
Solved by swapping keon and monk in the starting group…almost to easy…
No argument here. 10th in offense 28th in defense in first quarters this season.
Yeah it’s like quadrupling down on offensive playmakers and rolling with no defense isn’t a great plan…balanced lineups?!? What’s that
I also don’t like the confidence it gives another team, if your shots are falling then you get early confidence and tend to play better especially, for teams not as good as you.. It also means that our team may start pressing a little bit because they’re behind which I think creates poor shooting. I bet there is some correlation to poor defensive starts and us having lower 3pt shooting.. I wonder how how many times we saw a first quarter deficit of 8 or more points 2 years ago vs this season. And what was our 3pt shooting% in q2-4 in those games vs games where we stay within 7, vs this year. I know there’s a lot of variables to go into this, but I believe there’s a way to measure the impact shooting when you face early deficits. I don’t know just spitball on something. I’m sure the quants could figure out a way to analyze it and see if it holds any weight
People in the chat for 1320 and 1140 are talking about bringing cam johnson off the bench to keep the starters the same if we got him…i do not get this love of fox/monk together
Seems like Keon starting to get the Mike Brown treatment. No matter how great he is, guy is always fighting for minutes. He came in during the beginning of the 4th and had B2B steals and led to four easy points for Keegan and completely changed the game.
He had 30 minutes last night. He’s now 6th on the team in both mpg and total minutes. He has averaged 26-27 mpg in 2025. He averaged 19-20 under Brown this season, plus two DNPs.
I think he should be starting alongside Fox, and that he and Fox and Monk should be the three man rotation that soaks up most of the guard minutes. But there has been a definite uptick in his minutes under Christie compared to Brown.
Can our analytics team relay to the staff that fox/monk is our worst backcourt pairing…
Kings legend KH DNP. Trade incoming amirite??
We can only hope.
I think DC has handles the Huerter situation really well.
Hes given him limited minutes to try to figure it out and extra minutes when playing well. But DC is not willing to give Huerter 20+ minute at the expense of losing games like Brown was. Doug knows that Huerter can be a solid player, but there are 3-5 guards playing better.
Bad Like Brooklyn Dance Hall Dance! Kings Win!

Kings said “Brooklyn Nein Nein”
“The Kings are better without Fox!”

Fox haters strangely quiet tonight.
This is a straw man argument. Everyone who has advocated for trading Fox has also acknowledged what a great player he is. I haven’t seen a single person here who I would qualify as a “hater”.
Also, nobody is claiming they are better without Fox. The most I ever see is “they look just fine without Fox”, followed by howls of small sample size. Followed by making a bigger deal out of a 30 point game against a fairly bad Nets team that is actively trying to lose.
Let’s get it straight: Fox is a great player (or very very good if you don’t like throwing the word great around). Despite being great, there are legitimate questions about his consistency, ability to carry the team, and value on a super max.
Can we dispense with the ridiculous straw man arguments?
It’s not a straw man to point out that there are a couple of commenters who show up only after bad Fox games to push the same Fox trade ideas over and over. There are also reasonable commenters who support the idea a Fox trade, and they show up regardless of how Fox plays. Calling out the first group is not an attack on the second group.
Fair. But calling them haters is blatant hyperbole. The guy is working his way onto Sac’s Mt. Rushmore – a fact that most everyone here seems to acknowledge. Observing that Fox on a super max would hamstring the team, particularly after another inconsistent performance, isn’t the same as hating on him.
And I’m sure that someone, somewhere has said they think the team is better without him but that isn’t a serious comment, imo. Acting like there’s some contingent of people who actually believe that is also a straw man, afaic.
The reports of DeAaron’s demise have been greatly overstated.
Light the beam.
I just wrapped up the game. Keon with 30 minutes, 3-6 from deep, 3 steals, 2 blocks is what I like to see, and it’s what it should be every night. That is all.
Bbbbbbingo
that one play where he poked the ball away to Domas, stepped back to the three point line, catch and shoot for the three might be the play of the game.
Keon is the leader. The whole team’s defense intensifies when he’s on the floor. Defense leads to offense, and the result is winning basketball.
Keon and Keegan (post MB era), together, makes us so much better and more well rounded.
Did something happen to keegan? Why did he get only 24 min and i see doug with 7?
Foul trouble.
He had two fouls almost immediately and then got his 3rd on one of the dumbest fouls I’ve seen him make in the second quarter after coming back in. He got more run in the second half.
He and Domas have a tendency to make some dumb, ticky-tacky fouls. Monk too.
And boy, those fouls on 3 point-attempts are maddening.
They’ve had 7 fouls on three point attempts the last two games!! That’s rough.
Yes, the dumb fouls and dumb TOs are my only Domas complaints. Same for Monk
The Kings played like crap for 90% of the game but got the win against the woefully undermanned Nets. Once again, the team immediately went on a run and took over the game in the Keon/Keegan minutes with Sabonis, Monk and DDR. Fox played well tonight but the 5 man starting unit just doesn’t fit together and it continues to lead to deficits. If they don’t fix it, their ceiling is just severely limited.
Ah, though we know it’s merited and it’s coming, but seeing that DNP for KH is just damn deflating. What a fall from grace. Hope he could still redeem himself, here (good) or elsewhere (still good).
Ever since the tail-end of the 2022-23 season and the playoffs, he has completely fallen off the rails and is pretty much dead weight at this point. Not sure if any team would be willing to trade for him alone…would likely have to be part of deal involving multiple players.
I was done with KH last season when he was struggling and responded to a question about his struggles with something along the lines of “I don’t look at shot mechanics, I’m a feel shooter”.
