One team had a point guard that put up 19 assists and only one player that scored more than 20 points. One team had two players that scored 28 and 33 respectively.
“One team was fully healthy. The other team was on their third game in 4 days without three of their top six players. Which team won?”
It’s great that Trae had a lot of assists! Fox shot 50% from 3, had 7 assists and 28 points, and it was his worst game in 10 days (31 points, 3 assists 40% from deep against the Clippers on 11-8)
I’ve said it several times but the Kings have played exactly one bad game this year. How many times have the Kings had one inexplicably bad quarter, gotten drilled by someone they should beat, or come out flat against someone better. This season, the wins are not coming easy. I’d rather see this team finish strong than blow the bloody doors off. I don’t care that they probably aren’t better than the Cavs, Celtics or Thunder. If this is Fox entering his prime, and the team can gel over the next 65 games, no one will want to play Sacramento in the Playoffs. They’re really good on both sides of the court while missing key players and Keegan becoming Casper. The season isn’t won or lost before Christmas.
Kind of disagree. You’re calling the spurs and Raptors good games?
Neither Sabonis or Demar scare any team in the playoffs.
Sabonis lifetime is 11-7 That’s 11 pts and 7 rebounds
in the playoffs. Lifetime. Good defensive teams know how to scheme against him. Facts
Demar has the absolute worst plus/minus -137 in playoff history. That is number one in History. He’s another regular season stat filler. That has never translated to the playoffs.
Fox has done nothing in the playoffs. Sorry: But Fox is the reincarnation of Brad Beal. Who also has a 60 pt game on his resume. And 6x in the playoffs with a terrible wizards team.
So. I don’t think any team is afraid of the Kings in the West. Why? They haven’t beat a single good team in either conference over .500
Unless you include 2 wins over a Suns team without Durant and Beal.
A loss is a loss. Saying they have played good ball at 8-7 is a misnomer. As a precept, a lot of those losses came with The Kings as a full squad.
Until they can display consistent wins over good teams. This is a very average play in team.
Calling Fox Beal is just asinine, and if this isn’t trolling then you’re just hilariously wrong. Everyone who looks at Fox’s game through such a micro lens is completely missing the fact that he only fully committed himself to defense two+ years ago and LEADS THE NBA in opponent field goal % against. All that while still unlocking new levels to his offensive game.
Sabonis has developed some trust in his jumper, and DDR gets to be 2nd or 3rd fiddle on this team in the playoffs. The much bigger issue is Keegan looks lost and/or scared on offense and coach Brown has no idea what he’s doing with Ellis
Give this core more time to gel and, you know, get their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best players back, and we can get a better idea of what this team really is.
Just stop with the Fox hate. It’s a bad look and everyone can tell you are an unserious troll
The NBA has always had an officiating problem but this season might be the call for greater scrutiny. The Bucks v. Charlotte game with LoMelo falling in the closing seconds and getting a whistle had Doc Rivers getting fined for complaining about it even though it was a wrong call.
I don’t have a solution. Challenges are both a boon and their own problem (they take too much time, you only have limited number, sometimes they still miss the call).
At the end of the day, you have to shrug, say it’s part of the game, try not to put yourself in the position that it determines the outcome or overcome the bias, and move on. Is it harder for the Kings as opposed to the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks or Warriors (the League darlings). Absolutely. Will that change? Absolutely not.
It’s probably just me – but do the zebras appear to be taking a harsher, no-nonsense attitude to a higher degree than we’ve seen in the past few seasons?
(skipping Lebron and Draymond and Luka, of course)
And the younger refs seem greener than in the past as well.
Was that a clean steal at the end of regulation? It looked like Daniel’s got some arm? I thought we had a challenge remaining. I’m not 100% up to speed on all the nuances of the challenge rules…but why not give it a go?
Watched the video 4x. That was clean. Jalen is one of the top defenders in the league. Fox just lost control
of the ball. Was doubled and just lost it. Hawks are a mess though.
The calls were very inconsistent throughout the game. All in all a very frustrating game.
Fox lost some of his aggression from the previous two games. He had two chances to attack the basket 1v1 with about a minute left and down three, he chose to pass to the spray three on one and pull up for a quick three on the other.
Keon! His offense is coming around.
Keegan looks very indecisive if he isn’t taking an open three.
What has Sac done to Keegan? #1 priority should be finding Keegans shot (it looks flat) and finding him shots in the O. Threes
….otherwise, what is the point of wasting a number 4 pick on this? Keegs needs to blossom
imto the 3 and some D shooter.
Brown should cater O to his player strengths. His O isn’t great for Keegs.
Heurter has always been inconsistent. Not to mention- not clutch. But, he still has some trade value I think
I still don’t understand Browns treatment of Keon-not playing him. Just dumb… unless it’s something we don’t know about.
Well, you can’t win them all and eventually the injuries and lack of depth were bound to catch up with us. Just too bad it happened at home against a mediocre team on a B2B, and spoiled a career night by Keon.
Where is Keegan Murray? Without DeRozan, Domas and Monk, Keegan should be our 2nd best player and be much more assertive than what he has been in the last two games.
I hope his 47 points game was his only shooting game.Don’t understand why he is in a slump a lot of the time’ Hope he remedies this soon or we are in trouble. Great on defense but need more offense.
In one possession, where Doug and Fox tried to grab the defensive rebound at the same time, with no Hawks around them, and the ball accidentally went out of bound, then Hunter responsed with a 3 ball afterwards…
That’s a big swing…….I mean, Attention to details win you game….
They need better communication on the court……
It’s just sucks that no one can trust in the final play, for Fox to try to find some reliable teammates…
I agree. On the last play Fox was in a terrible place on the floor. On the baseline can’t go left hemmed in by 2 players. I just happened to see Lyles 2 feet inside the free throw line and nobody within 5 feet but because of where Fox was on the floor not able to pass the ball. Might have been Hawks defensive play to move him to that spot. If so that was a good play.
I am amazed that for all the talk of Defense not a mention of Keegan’s job on Young . Only his poor offense . Also. Daniel’s great effort on Fox and he still scored 28 . Example of his superior abilities .
Everytime Keegan shoots I expect him to miss. He’s not a 3 and d player. Right now he’s more of a d and liability on offense.
I’m not sure what the answer if but I wonder if they should move him to SG and start Trey Lyles in the regular starting lineup. Maybe playing PF fulltime is throwing him of.
Certainly, the offense sputtered in the opening 5 minutes where it really looked like the Rock Richmond Kings and then Keon went off. It was great to see, and perhaps this is the first step in greater offense production like we’ve seen with his counterparts – Lou Dort, Grayson Allen, Dorian Finney-Smith, Jaden McDaniels (3 and D folks). His teammates were great in their support.
Keegan is in a slump. I have great confidence that he’ll find his way out of it. Likely, no one is harder on him, than Kris himself. I like that he’s looking to effect the game in other ways, rebounding, continued keying on defense. He’s still a favorite of mine, his game is continuing to expand.
Fox with an easy 28 as an almost afterthought. He can’t do it all, but you have to like what we are seeing.
Lyles with a double double. I hope we can get more from Orlando Robinson.
I don’t think we are going to see Domas for another week or more. Just my guess.

Look at all that straw, man!

Refs were horrific this game.

Looked clean to me. Problem was the defender got the ball and stepped on the end line with maybe 1 second left and no call.

Clean?
Yeah why not? What do you have to lose? What do you have to win? If called for you you probably win the game.
Clean steal . Dyson great job on Fox to hold him to 28 and Keegan amazing work on Young . 24 point scorer held to 7 .
As stated above, clean?
Got to see this one live, great atmosphere!

The end of the game comes doen to made or missed opportunities- the Kings missed more than they made especially in the closing 5 minutes.
Refs seemed biased- I think Keegan and De’Aaron got the worst of that,
Kings had the ball with 9’seconds and didn’t even get off a shot.
Next
What can you do. Keegan has obviously regressed. Huerter is so inconsistent from one game to the next. Kills any trade value.
What has Sac done to Keegan? #1 priority should be finding Keegans shot (it looks flat) and finding him shots in the O. Threes

Clippers on Friday won’t be a joyride. 2nd best defense in the league
Hopefully the Kings lose so you can show up to comment. We miss you when the Kings win.

I am quite certain that for the majority of the game, Young was defended by Keon. With a spattering of Huerter, McLaughlin and Keegan.
So is it possible to have a great defensive game without poor offense, it seems.
Everytime Keegan shoots I expect him to miss. He’s not a 3 and d player. Right now he’s more of a d and liability on offense.
