Well, I’m happy for David Adelman. React away, we’ll have a full recap up tomorrow.

Jerry Reynolds is an absolute delight.

I love listening to Jerry but there was a point in the game where he didn’t speak for about 20 secs…he let the play-by-play announcer do his job without being talked over, it was a perfect example of how a color commentator should let a game breathe. Less can be more. I cherish every time he works a game.

Yup. This game was a win for me, no matter the outcome.

I usually watch the condensed all possesions version, but this time I watched the whole game, to be able to hear Jerry.

Jerry’s still the best! Looking great for any age and especially for 81! Thought he had a nice rapport with Drapes.

I’m taking credit for “We’re Consistently Inconsistent.” whether he got it from here or not.

Well – that was a game where I saw the opportunities slip away, and the free throw disparity didn’t help.

DEN did what they needed to do, when they needed to do it. The winning end result seemed always a bit out of reach for Sacramento, like an older brother keeping a younger one at arm’s length and let him swing away until he gets tired, never making any contact.

Hey – how about the Warriors getting outscored 38-23 in the 4th to lose to the Spurs, which drops them to 7th.

A Play-In game at Chase Center seems inevitable.

It won’t happen. The Kings have Terrence Davis to guard him!

oh wait…

Speaking of which:
How about Harrison Barnes hitting the game winning 3 from the weakside arc to beat the Warriors. The same shot we saw in Game 4 of the Warriors v. Kings 1st round playoff in The Beam Team Season, that he back rimmed, which would have given Sac a 3-1 series lead… If only he made that one…

oh well, back to our regularly scheduled present version of whatever this Kings team is. Funny how hope has changed in just two short years…

Yeah, my first thought watching that shot was “Why the hell didn’t you hit that against GSW?”…then it morphed into “Good for you HB, we miss you”.

The Kings struggled with Denver’s size and figured: maybe we won’t struggle as much if we just give them driving lines for open layups and dunks. That strategy unfortunately didn’t pay off.

The same can be said for DeRozan continuously calling his own number while struggling against Gordon and other defenders. Painful to watch.

Fortunately Jerry was there to ease the pain somewhat, what an absolute gem.

Draper talking about the keys to the game: “We’ve got the four E’s, hopefully you can explain to me what they are in the next 2.5 hours”

Jerry: “If I can remember them”

or

Draper: “David Adelman, only 43 years old (…)”

Jerry: “I can’t even remember 43”

Never change, Jerry. Never change.

Yes, that was great, pretty much at the start of the broadcast (that I saw). Jerry was feeling it, unlike DDR.

Jerry is awesome and I miss him calling games sooooo much. Sadly, there’s absolutely nothing interesting about this team. They obviously aren’t going anywhere. If the other team is even remotely good and they’re locked in, the Kings are going to lose. I’ll be happy when this season is over and if I’m being honest, probably next season as well. Being boring and bad is an awful combination.

Disappointing loss but not surprising . Denver just better . The big takeaway for me was how much I enjoyed the broadcast and how Jerry made Kyle a solid and enjoyable PBP broadcaster . Never thought I would think that .

Ha! I texted that to a friend last night and he thanked me – he said that he was getting childhood flashbacks every time they showed Adelman but he couldn’t figure out why.

Paraphrasing:
Draper: Jerry, you could run for Mayor here and win in a landslide.
Jerry: Well, I live in Roseville so that would be kind of tough.

The most enjoyable viewing experience of the season, win or lose. What always strikes me the most is the humility that Jerry possesses when he is easily the smartest basketball mind on the broadcast. And as others have noted, the jazz is in the notes that he does not play, which brings out the best in his broadcast partners. A selfless, generous, brilliant, funny, humble young man, even at 81. Without a doubt, my favorite King of all time.
