Great article in the Athletic (pay wall) on Brad Stevens and what he looks for in players and how that led to his success at Butler and now with the Celts.
Boston, live by the 3 die by the 3
I call winner gets the MVP
I woke up and was shocked Nuggets came back and won. Looked up ending highlights of the game and felt their fan’s energy was so weak! Or was it the highlight that soften up the arenas sound?
Denver was playing in OKC, so probably not a ton of Denver fans there.
Yeah I know they’re playing in OKC… I was just saying I can hear sneakers making squeaking sounds on the hardwood over their Defense chants.
SGA will win the MVP but the best player in the world plays for Denver .
A’s go extra innings and win in a walk off against division rival at home. I’m really enjoying this team while we have them. Nuggets/OKC was super fun.
Round 2/Conference Semi-finals with 3 games in and 3 road team victories. That’s amazing.
Tonight – either the 6th or 7th seed is going to the Western Conf. Finals. On paper, this should favor Minny – their defense should overwhelm the Warriors offense, however, one could have made the same assumption with Houston and to give the Dubs their props, their defense, especially in Game 7 was impressive. Looking at the scoring during these playoffs, defense is King (but not Kings).
I say Minny in 6. They have a big frontline similar to Houston but they also have a good offense and bucket getters in Ant and JR. Should be a good series though.
Playoff have been excellent so far.
And the TWolves are not likely to miss as many FTs as the Rockets missed.
I think that’s it’s due to the tough defense, free throw defense, of course.
I am actually happy that GSW beat HOU.
I wanted HOU to lose so that they feel the need to retool and move some of their younger talent (Green, Sheppard, Smith Jr, Eason, and/or Whitmore) for more established and consistent players. I don’t see any benefits to the Kings franchise if GSW were bounced early.
The next best possible outcome might be OKC losing to DEN so that they also feel the need to make some moves themselves. The Kings FO needs more teams trying to move players this offseason if they have any hope of remaking/resetting/rebalancing the squad.
Good call! But GSW can suck it!
I think we can put to rest all of those praises that Sabonis is Jokic lite. Sabonis is just lite. That was an all time performance by joker
Did anyone else get ptsd watching Sengun with no post move or shot, barreling into people with a miss?
He’s Sabonis-Lite
That Haliburton guy in Indy looks good. He’d be a good point guard for the Kings, i bet.
Maybe a 3-way trade with GSW.
Sabonis to Indy. We get Rese and Hield. GSW can suck it!
No GM experience. Interesting.
BJ Armstrong Client List
I see some point guards on there.
BJ Armstrong works for Wasserman. Notice any other players who are represented by them?
Kings all in on the placate Domas train, I guess.
Thanks!
Maybe he knows the cap well, can use his connections within the league.
Regarding the experience angle, I would argue that an agent may have overlapping skills in terms of contract structuring, negotiation, and individual player-analysis.
Bobby Jackson returning:

you can’t make this stuff up.
And yes, the appropriate response – for me – is LOLKangz
I see this as a good thing as BJax is a good coach, especially defensively. He requires buy-in and effort on that side of the floor. He’s a future head coach in this league.
Is it just because he was part of the Kings legacy squad that has people LOLKangzing his potential hire? If so, I think this thread-of-thought doesn’t take into account or minimalizes the idea that former Kings players can also be qualified coaches and every team in the league provides opportunities for former players to become coaches.
Yeah. It’s not like Booby is some random former King that should not be a coach. He has coached for a while now, including in Philly with Nick Nurse.
Your Sacramento Kings… a tradition like no other
so these former Kings players, that are now coaches – do they represent some winning legacy that I am missing out on? Are these proven assets to the League? If so, what other team would hire them to be Head Coaches? Because, don’t you know, should Coach Christie stumble and let’s say this group starts the season 4-14 or 8-20 or pick a number – what’s you next move?
Mike Woodson? Bobby Jackson? Mike Bibby? It’s got to be that, because that’s all they got in the bank.
These guys might be good coaches and seem to be good guys. But as a fan, a fan of a team that has made the playoffs just one time in the last 19 seasons, and one time under the Ranadive/Matina Kingdom – this is not even close being enough.
Give them a chance? I don’t have a say in their hiring or firing. But their empty words fall on my deaf ears.
When will the League step in and put an end to this Kingdom of Chaos, this Royal FudgeUp, The Crown of Clown – I have no loyalty to this royalty. Fealty my a$$.
We all have opinions, and that’s fine.
I get what you’re saying, its gets old that they seem to have only one move and they keep going back to that time and time again without great results.
In the big picture, I agree with that sentiment, it’s just that BJax is actually a good coach and I think these hires should be judged individually. To that point, I don’t care for the Woodson hire at all…but I’m hoping to be wrong about him.
We’re getting the band back together!
Also looking at hiring Darius Songaila (former King). He was with the Spurs for like 5 or 6 years as an assistant.
