This is the Kings team I expected. They just have no clue what offensive sets to get in to. Hoopin’ at The Y.

So the Mavs started no PG and went big. Not a good sign for the Kings.

Yup. That thought go me looking up the career arc of Dante Exum. Dude couldn’t hit the side of a barn in his first 6 years, then took 2 years out of the NBA and is now a really solid contributor. The guy is a 50% from the filed and 45% 3pt shooter the last two years. That’s incredible!
The Kings do not have an NBA-level offense. Yet, two years ago they had the best in the league?

Lavine is trying harder on D tonight…..still looks like he has no idea what to do. But we will keep watching Klay switch on him every play and Lavine looking shocked he’s open again.
This will be a fitting end to the most frustrating Kings season I can remember.

Please tear this entire team apart, try to resign LaRavia, and build around Keegan, Keon, and Carter. This is fucking pathetic.
He’s a sobering thought. Lavine will make what Klay makes in 3 years with Dallas just next year. I would gladly take broken Klay over him.

Hey Vivek, this is on you. I want you to know I have been a fan of the Kings since 1990 and I’m turning this game off at the half because this team is unwatchable.

At least my SF Giants are exciting to watch. I already stopped paying more than very casual attention to the Kings once baseball started.
Well….that was not the halftime score I was expecting, lmao. It’ll sure be something if the Kings end this season getting blown out on their home floor.
Halftime analysis:
McGenius’s main players are either known bad in the playoffs (Sabonis, DeRozan) or unproven because they’ve never been there (LaVine).
These are mostly terrible defenders, which was a known problem when McGenius McGeniused these players onto the Kings.
Don’t trade your best player for an older, lesser, higher paid player in the same season you’re going to fire your GM.
The best part is the whole league watching our main players fail, so they are harder to trade. Yay!

The Home Team getting destroyed by a team who was in the NBA Finals in recent memory yet underperformed this year (who BTW traded both their stars who were big parts of their recent NBA finals appearances)

I was really excited for Domas’s improvement early in the season, but he looks like the same player from the last 2 post seasons. Not sure who he thinks he is to demand a trade

It wasn’t enough to drag us through a 16 year playoff drought. They had to go build a young, fun, exciting team that only needed minor tweaks, then burn it all down by comically failing at every subsequent turn. A real chef’s kiss to the fan base.
Seriously. Add some length, defense and athleticism. Instead they doubled down over and over and over on scoring combo guards.
Only a few weeks ago, I expected better, today, not really. This team only puts their worst foot forward. I expect them to come back,,,and fall short again. No composure. DC is a bust. I’m afraid MM will take the fall, after assembling plenty of talent, and failing to find the right coach.
This team has way bigger problems than the coach.

Klay was also a very good defender in his prime. LaVine has always been awful on defense.

Congrats Vivek, you traded away your star player for this heaping pile of dung. Now I’m off to checking if the Kings pull off a miracle in the lottery, then from time to time to see if Vivek finally gets his head out of his butt and starts a rebuild. There is no watching next season with the current build.
Im just about done with this team.
My resolution from this 22 years of suffering is to not watch 1 single kings game next season.
That’ll break my stockholms syndrome, and hopefully, I can move on to watching other teams that’ll help bring back the joy and excitement I have for sports.
I’m right there with you. I’m not watching a game again until something changes. Just totally pointless when every season starts with us playing for nothing.
I for one, find all this quite hilarious at this point. I need a photoshop of Stewie Griffin asking Vivek why everything he touches turns to garbage. Was actually going to watch this one but after I got the kids to bed I checked the score and saw they were down by 23 and just laughed. Doubt it’s getting better next year either.
Well, maybe next century it’ll get better.
