Big difference in that quarter was 3pters and TOs (8 Kings -1 Mavs). They really are struggling to find a rhythm with each other on offense. If they can clean it up though, I think they’ve otherwise been competing well.

Lavine seems very turnover prone
He’s trying to do much. Uncertain on about should he go get a shot or dish it. Be aggressive.
Don’t love Lavine’s handling/decision making/passing with the ball. He should maybe have more of a play finisher role, while Monk and DDR facilitate. Having a pass first backup guard would be nice, too.

It likely all boils down to what Keegan is looking for as a salary & what the Kings are willing to pay a guy who is at the bottom of the offensive pecking order.
Keegan is at the top of the defensive pecking order so you almost have to pay for that. I don’t think I blink if he wants jerami grant dollars
Definitely worth watching to see if Vivek actually wants to start spending money to win, or if he’s content keeping payroll low… knowing he can sell tix either way.

Zach is terrible in crunch time. Win or lose, this is pathetic. Barely win against a team without 4 of its best bigs is terrible. No AD, Lively, PJ, or Gafford once left the game. I have no words. The Kings should be tanking. No point in making the play in and risk losing our draft pick this year.

If stupid Christy doesn’t take Demar out for D then he doesn’t have to call a timeout to get him back in on offense and the Mav’s would have to had fouled us. Instead the TO advanced the ball and set the shot click to 14 and forced us to take a shot. What was he thinking? Lucky!!!
He was advancing the ball. Absolutely the correct thing to do in that situation.
No it’s isn’t. There was 17 seconds left and a full 24 second shot clock after Kyries bucket. We were up 2 and they had to fouls us. Calling that stupid timeout forced us to shoot, instead of making 2 free throws and going up 4. You’re as dumb as Christy.

After Kyrie’s drive to the basket and score there were 17.6 seconds left in the game. Kings ball.
The game clock controlled from 17.6 seconds left until the end of the game.
The shot clock was turned off.
The shot clock was not reset to 14 seconds by the timeout nor by advancing the ball to the front court. It was turned off because there was a change of possession and there were less than 24 seconds in the game.
The Kings were not forced to shoot. They did. Perhaps that was unwise. Perhaps not. That decision had nothing to do with being forced to shoot because the shot clock was reset to 14 seconds. It was turned off.
Why the fuck would they take a shot then when all they had to do was run out the clock. Even Kayte and Mark were talking about them running a play to get a shot. It makes no sense at all. Let them foul you or run out the clock. Unless it’s a wide open layup you never shoot and give them a chance to beat you if you miss. Guess what, that’s exactly what happened. Luckily the kings got the game winner, but still absolutely horrible coaching to take that shot.
As I said perhaps the shot DDR took was unwise, perhaps it was not. If he thinks he can make it, it ices the game.
However, that wasn’t your premise in your original note, and you know it.
The only reason you take that shot is if there is a shot clock still. Yes I apparently thought the timeout reset it, because that is the only reason you ever take that shot instead of waiting for them to foul you.
I don’t mind being as dumb as Christie. Dude is getting his chance. Hope he makes the most of it.
