As far as overall importance goes, is this the biggest Kings game in over 10 years? A win here keeps them afloat in the playoff race and a loss buries them for good. Considering the stakes and this franchise’s track record, I am prepared for the worst

Waiting for someone to get physical on defense. Waiting for the ball movement on offense.
Goal on offense is to take difficult shots so why pass it?
Walton pulled Holmes because Vuc wasn’t even bothering to cover him. I love Holmes, but he’s no threat on offense so Magic are just packing the paint to stop Fox.

Walton’s half court offense has been terrible all season.

Both are bad but Walton’s offense is painful to watch. He doesn’t take advantage of the small but important strenghts on the roster.

14 years of no playoffs with literally no sign of any end to it in sight. I expected nothing in these 8 games and this team delivered what they’ve always delivered. Worst part is we are stuck with Vlade/Luke for a few more years so there’s gonna be no progress or momentum, so we’re pretty much talking 2025-2026 as maybe the next possible window at the earliest for this team to be .500 or better.

I think Divac and Walton will be gone at the end of next season, after falling on their faces yet again. If the rebuild starts then, I agree you’re probably looking at 3-4 years, minimum, and the poor sap that takes the job is literally going to have one asset and a lot of bad contracts.

Vlade and Luke needs to be fired, Vivek needs to give up control, and we need to hit the reset button. Obviously this 8th rebuild didn’t work. Remember when the Kings could’ve easily had Aaron Gordon and (He who must be not named). Instead the Kings drafted Bagley and offered Zach Lavine a max contract.

Wildcard: Vivek could reassign Vlade internally, and go with a stopgap option, like promoting Catanella, to ride out the Divac or Walton deal(s). Then the new GM could ostensibly fire Walton and start anew.
It would convey, “I get it, we were awful” but cost him next to nothing. It fits his MO perfectly.

Kings fans know how to handle heart break, dissapointment, and sadness better then most humans because we live in it constantly. It just gets old. We deserve better.
This team is surprisingly resilient, so I don’t think it’s over yet. But damn, that defense is so bad.

This is bad even judging on a Kings scale.
The Kings stunk from the get go this season. They don’t mentally show up.
Walton’s lack of preparation is his most glaring deficiency as a coach
100%. The mental approach went in the toilet with Walton. He’ll never be a head coach again.
Fox is the only potential All Star on this team and everyone else is not as good as the fanbase builds them up to be. It messes up our expectations.
Just not a good team. No concept of team defense. No go-to scorer. A coach better suited for D2 ball.
Bazemore and Len came in and raised our collective eyebrows. That kind of explains everything.
This is a good point. And quite frankly, the Magic have three guys on their team that would probably be the Kings best player, right now.
This is a critical point. The team has nowhere near the talent that we are constantly being told by the organization and local media that it does. Name the Kings top 3 players, and compare them to the other teams around the league. The Kings come out in the bottom third at best. It is not a playoff roster.
This isnt an ass kicking so much as it’s an ass bulldozing.
I could be wrong, but it’s almost like this team isn’t very talented.

So the Kings are arguably the 4th worst team in the league right now. Vivek needs to act accordingly. This is not a playoff team. Changes need to happen.
I was thinking about this the other night. I think at best, even if we tank, we’d be around 10 or 11. There were a lot of abysmal teams this year.
I just learned about the move from STR to here, I hope everyone is doing alright! I’m a Blazer fan but I also tend to follow the Kings, though of course during the pandemic I’ve been out of it so I’m way behind on learning about this new site.
