Dougie starting again
They just said on the pre-game show that Keon will start!
Oh just switched to Keon
JFC Fox. Drive to the basket! And Sabonis hit in the face with no call…
I’m beginning to accept the fact that nobody on the team or staff understands the concept of perimeter defense. It’s a bit calming.
Acceptance is the first step, or something like that.
Kings look like they’re just doing a walk-through this game. I’m already dreading the “we just didn’t come out prepared” answer.
Heat are really disrupting the Kings rhythm on offense. Also the sample size suggests Huerter is pretty important to the best version of this team.
It’s funny that Mark and Kayte sound so surprised that an opponent shoots well from 3 against the Kings. It happens nearly every game.
Concerning start. This one has a chance to become a blowout IMO.
We are on pace for 80. Playing Miami’s game.
Herro was the offense for the Heat.
Yeah Kings weren’t too good but neither were the Heat. If the offense starts rolling I think they’ll pull it out.
Just keep jacking up 3s.
It seems insane to me that we have 3 maybe 4 (one is out) average or better 3pt shooters on this roster, yet most of these guys insist on being Steph Curry.
Not into this Len/Lyles frontcourt. But you know, we need to have 9 guards on the roster, so we make do.
I’d love to see an upgrade from Lyles. He was fun that first season, but that ship has sailed.
He’s not a top 8 guy for a good playoff team.
Close game, neither team is gaining much of an edge or pulling away. Not the prettiest game, but just get the W.
DeRozan is cookin’ and Brown pulls him…
4 king defenders standing in the paint, 4 heat shooters on the 3pt lime. All of them were wide open and King defender moved. They just stood there and luckily Vam missed the 3.
Is Brown ever going to get a Tech because of all the non-calls when sabonis gets clocked in the head? Stand up for the players
Wonder if he would have had more fire it we didn’t unnecessarily extend him so early.
The Kings are a bad 3 point shooting team. If that doesn’t change not sure they’re going anywhere.
It won’t change until they bring in more good 3pt shooters
Oh they’re not going anywhere without some moves. No doubt about it.
Yeah Kayte. The Heat find players to fit their system and they’re not a lottery team who doesn’t find players to fit it’s system like the Kings. Got it.
They’re cooked in this game. Very sad effort.
I know the Heat are good defensively, but the Kings just look slow and unorganized offensively.
Kings….can’t hit 3’s and can’t defend against 3’s. Not a good formula for team success
Matthews/Boucher/Larson.
blech
I currently blame Monte and Brown for this product. This team has a lot of talent, more than it did last year. DDR looks as advertised, Domas is having a career year, Keegan has taken a step forward, Huerter is back, etc.
These rotations, lack of defined roles, and poor defensive system are failing the talent on this team. The team appears to be missing Jordi badly – perhaps he should be the HC here instead of in Brooklyn.
And Monte not addressing the gaping hole at the forward position is also failing the talent on this team. Both things need to be addressed quickly if this team wants to compete.
I try to look at the positives, but the downsides of the organization keep rising to the top.
Multiple chances to draft a forward in the 1st and 2nd rounds, but traded the picks. Free agency and trades are a bit tougher to gage because it takes two to tango.
I wrote this a few game threads ago. Might as well write it every game.
Losing by 13 at halftime doesn’t reflect upon a team that wishes to be elite.
I’d like to know Kayte’s definition of “much better 3pt shooting team”. Because having to go back two years, before the book was out on this system, isn’t a compelling argument.
Good finish Keon
great D by Keon
immaculate defense by Keon on that 24 second violation forcing the Rozier air ball
Showing signs of life. Now react to the Heat adjustment and keep fighting back
These guys have to rest at some point. Brown is I forced to play a shit lineup.
Keon needs to miraculously become a 30 point guy for this to work.
Where was this team in the 1st half?
Stick around and find out
DeRozan is going to make Fox expendable. Devin Carter is not here to replace Kevin Huerter – a guy Monte brought in. He’s here to replace one of the last Vlade holdouts as a 3&D guard next to a score-first forward and facilitating center.
Personally, I’m not counting on Carter replacing anybody, even Mason Jones, until I see him play NBA basketball.
Totally fair. But Fox is not a Monte guy, he’s entering a contract year, and he’s owed potentially massive money despite never taking this team past the first round. I’d guess Monte had that in mind when he took a two-way point guard that can play off-ball and who everyone lauded as being able to play from day one. Maybe he doesn’t become the answer, but today he’s certainly an option. And we all know how Monte feels about options.
I am not all in on Fox. The Carter prediction is bold.
Really?
Has he touched a ball in the last year?
Making a run in the third?
Who are these guys?
Heat 3pt shooting is taking a dip, thankfully we’ve been able to capitalize.
Wow what a run! Some real heart showing here.
Keon is a +24 and it’s no mistake
Fox chucking threes instead of running an offense is going to hurt.
I tune in late and IMMEDIATELY get Two Possession Kayte.
The whistle has changed this quarter.
Fox not passing the ball is the delta.
That’s the goal.
Imagine having a point guard that was not an individual stat guy.
Guess the challenge outcome
Should not have been a charge
Butler is ready to play now.
Jesus these refs are bad
Backwards flop by Bam.
Embiid like nonsense from him
Keegan is going to foul out if he stays on Butler.
This Heat whistle in the 4th is disgraceful man
Some bullshit calls happening in the past few minutes.
Heat ramping up their defensive intensity. Kings struggling with it
I don’t like Ellis coming out and Monk staying in.
Why?
Rather have the defense on Herro and the other shooters.
Monk finishes games. Keon is in foreign territory right now,
Ellis goes out and the 3s start dropping by the Heat. Your opinion may vary.
Monk scored to get within 2 on a dunk, Ellis doesn’t do that.
Ellis stops the Heat from scoring. Monk doesn’t do that.
Fox might pass it?
Let’s go iso finish
One team executes well and plays disciplined basketball and one doesn’t. Guess we will find out who will win.
Genuinely never understand what our guys think they’ll accomplish by biting on a fake and jumping wildly in front of the three point shooter, I’ve never seen anyone get a block or even a good contest from doing that.
I like Sabonis bringing the ball up for the rest of the game.
Fox is going to shoot us into a loss.
Fox defensed the Kings into a win by covering Herro like a glove against the side line on the Butler shot.
Did you see how the game was won?
On the Heats penultimate offensive play Fox pinned Herro along the side line, just as I said above, denying him the ball.
On the King’s last possession a Domas rebound on the missed shot by Fox and the winning push shot by Domas.
So, yes. You miss the defensive stop by the Kings on the Heat’s possession?
Let this be one of those rare games where the Kings are outscored in three quarters but still win the game.
When you only need two, and you’re shooting a terrible 3pt ball, might as well take the three….
Heat players just need to fall down and they get a call.
Butler owns Keegan.
Until he didn’t.
Wide open corner 3. Kings defense delivers once again
Kayte is ABSOLUTELY shocked the Heat hit an open three! OMG!
Demar trying his best to drag them to a W
Yes Kayte please continue and talk over the Kings last possessions.
Mute it and listen to the radio feed.
What’s radio?
The radio feed on the Kings app. They keep it alive there I’m a digital format free to the world.
Damn Herro just clowned DeMar there
Herro stops the totally predictable hero ball.
A lot of games are going to be close, no matter if the Kings are playing good or bad teams. No defense.
Turnovers every time when down 1 trying to take the lead. Fox last game vs Raptors when RJ got And 1 and now Demar this game fouling Herro leading to 2 points
Fox with a mid-range brick?
Glad it was Monk not Fox
Go get this W!!!!!
This has to be set up for a DeMar look in the mid range here
This is why Monk is in and Keon is home on the bench.
“Great defense from the Kings when they needed it most.” -Mark Jones LOL!
Basketball is not his sport.
God Damn she just can’t stop herself.
Mute
Wow!!!!!!
DOMAS!!!!
Fox mid-range brick! I called it!
Heat have one catch and shoot opportunity
Thanks lol
One more stop please
007 no James Bond shit pls
Thank god
PHEW!
Time to hit the town!!
Demar, Domas, and Monk all made boneheaded and game-saving plays down the stretch. Kings basketball baby!
Defense got them back in it in the 3rd quarter.
What game did you watch?
Maybe the one where Miami scored only 17 pts in the 3rd quarter
Yeah and the Kings scored more. That is the idea.
Sacramento @ Miami. It was an 8:15pm EST tipoff on November 4th, 2024.
I guess holding an opponent to 17 points in a quarter isn’t defense to you.
I enjoy conversations about basketball. Go Kings!
Roller coaster win, wow
Sabonis and Derozan in the last three minutes from now on.
Ugly, hard-fought W. Defense was altogether decent, but too many fouls. Keon was a big part of both of those points. Domas, DDR, and Fox all did their jobs and it was just enough. Still need more out of Murray and Lyles. It didn’t always look great but a solid overall effort.
Still alpwed a team to shoot better than their season average from 3, that needs continue to be addressed.
Fox dominated the 3rd and made it a game again. Refs tried to control the outcome in the 4th.
Indeed. The Heat called for 15 fouls. The Kings called for 30. A fair number were questionable or ticky tack fouls considering the number of times Sabonis took an elbow or closed hand to the head. Hard to win those kind of games against a home team. Particularly against a well coached team. Kings did it tonight. That third quarter was amazing. As Mike said above, Kings win the game by winning one quarter. I have to check the 4th quarter stats on the scoring. Watching the replay on my DVR.
The negativity is crazy. WHAT A GAME!!!
