He started the season looking so good, too.
He started his career looking so good-especially shooting the 3.
Brown has turned him into a defender who can’t shoot in an O that needs to run sets for Keegs but doesn’t.

I’d agree with 5hat, and they shouldn’t stop at thinking about Monte. Question is, does Vivek eat the rest of Mike’s unnecessary extension, or does he send him out too?
Honestly, I think it may be Brown. The team has talent, it’s undeniable. How they so regularly look so underwhelming must be a coaching issue.
What concerns me w Brown is he’s a coach who forces players into his system and roles rather than formulating a system that best uses talent (See Steve Kerr).
. I think thats why Brown hasn’t seemed to be able to maximize the talent he has…..
Spray threes and pace is his system. It is as simple as it gets.
100% agree. He’s a drill sergeant. Has a great rapport with players. Knows how to drill guys to get the most out of themselves individually. But in terms of structuring effective systems, making key rotations, adapting the gameplan on the fly – these are his great weaknesses, and they are the characteristics of coaches that win championships. These types of coaches (Spoelstra, Pop, Kerr, etc.) are visionaries, basketball geniuses. MB is the perfect guy to be second in command on their bench. But as a head coach, he’s just middle of the road. Don’t know if this team can realize the fullest version of itself with him at the helm.
What can Brown do differently?
Adjust the O. Run more sets for Keegan. Not have Keegan guard the 4. Adjust and help.

The Kings are also way too small and weak. It’s hard to he tough when you’re the smaller and weaker team ever night.
Imagine having a true four next to Sabonis. Derozan and Sabonis would have free reign in the paint.

At this point, it’s time to send Keegan to the second unit for a while. Awful offensively and defense has also regressed this season.
Go get a four that this team obviously needs and put Keegan back in his home at the three.
I’d be fine using a Keegan as bait to get that 4. I think we’re pretty much seeing his ceiling.
Better grab John Collins before his trade value goes up any higher. They probably could have gotten him for next to nothing or even got extra assets to take his salary in the off-season but he’s been balling this year and now his deal doesn’t look so bad.
Living in SoCal, this is one of only a handful of games I get to see. How depressing

when the team is in disarray, not on the same page, not making shots, not altogether there, and turning the ball over, does the fast pace make it worse?
Missing Monk hurts but he would not change the game enough to offset this crap.

Three years ago I actually preferred Marc Jackson over Brown as the head coach. I wonder what it could of been every now and then. Especially nights like these

whatever the team did at halftime to prepare themselves to play basketball should be done before the game starts.
Fox is putting up good numbers, but it’s frustrating waiting for his to get mad/focused sometimes.
That’s the realest shit ever. He has to be mad/focused otherwise he’s passive and mostly non-vocal. If you’re going to be a non-vocal leader, can’t also be passive.

Yeah Brown went back and forth non-stop with Len and O-Rob last game, giving Len the edge with minutes but not letting either one get settled. Neither played tonight.
