The Sacramento Kings provided injury updates for Malik Monk, Devin Carter, and Orlando Robinson on Monday.
Malik Monk
Monk will be out at least two weeks with what the Kings are calling a “moderate right ankle sprain” that he suffered Sunday against the Phoenix Suns. The Kings say that X-rays revealed no structural damage, which is great news, and that Monk will be re-evaluated in two weeks. Here’s hoping Monk makes a full and speedy recovery. The Kings bench hasn’t had a great start the season, and losing their 6th man is sure to hurt Sacramento.
Devin Carter
The Kings announced Carter completed his four-month follow-up following shoulder surgery this summer. Carter was cleared for unrestricted shooting, and the next updated won’t be expected until January. Based on the injury’s timeline, we expected Carter would miss until January or February, and he’s apparently still on track for that. Carter had been shooting before this, but I’m assuming he had limits on how much he could shoot.
Orlando Robinson
Robinson has been recovering from a sprained MCL since October 3rd. The Kings announced that he has been cleared for full contact, and will be re-evaluated in the coming days. Sounds like Robinson is going to be back and available to play very soon.
Gonna be a tough two-plus weeks. Need to have the bench step up for the time being.
