Kings don’t lose 17th straight!

The streak is officially over.
By | 31 Comments | Feb 23, 2026

Feb 4, 2026; Sacramento, California, USA; Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaylen Wells (0) and Sacramento Kings forward De’Andre Hunter (15) fight for a rebound during the fourth quarter at Golden 1 Center. Mandatory Credit: Ed Szczepanski-Imagn Images

Update:

The Sacramento Kings won a game. I repeat the Sacramento Kings won a game.

Sacramento defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 123-114. Precious Achiuwa had 22 points and 12 rebounds. Maxime Raynaud had 10 points and 13 rebounds. Nique Clifford had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Solid game!

That tank will have to wait.

From Earlier Preview:

Who’s ready for more KINGS BASKETBALL!!!  I bet you’re all just as pumped as I am.

Who: Sacramento Kings (12-46) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (21-34)
What: NBA Basketball, allegedly
When: 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET
Where: FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN
Why: To see if the Kings can continue to break history
Watch: NBCSCA / League Pass

The Kings and Grizzlies face off tonight in what has to be one of the least appealing matchups around the league today.  The Kings, losers of 16 straight and holders of the NBA’s worst record, face a Memphis Grizzlies team that probably isn’t much better considering how many players are injured, but are at least playing at home and have beaten the Kings three times already this season.

Newcomers Killian Hayes and Patrick Baldwin Jr. might get some run so I guess that’s something to watch. This is by far the most winnable matchup for the Kings on this current road trip, so if they can’t pull it out tonight this losing streak is probably going to get to at least 20 games.  My guess is the streak keeps on going.  Here’s hoping for another good Maxime Raynaud game though.

Prediction: Kings 97, Grizzlies 109

Now to Memphis for our next bruising;
Two new players just signed for infusing.
Just continue to crank
Up our “ethical tank”.
‘Cause Vivek deserves all this losing!

So that is Nique’s problem, his eyes are rolled up. Now it makes sense.

that’s not Nique Clifford – that is DeAndre Hunter! And he has an eye problem. (read the caption of the picture).

Good catch. He looks like nique to me. I wasnt trying to make a bad joke with Hunters eye surgery.

Watching Houston @ Kansas is the most fun I’ve had as a Kings fan all year!

What was good about it? Flemings and Peterson both looked meh and were non factors for the most part.

Raynaud and Clifford with 27 minutes apiece and finished on the bench as Westbrook and DeRozan close out the win. When can we shut them down as well?

Seriously. Wedtbrick with 17 shots. Keegan needs to be force fed the ball. He’s got to learn to shoot the 3 again and be aggressive. Nothing about Westbrook is helpful is the progress of this team.

Derozen unneeded but at least he’s not suppressing youngsters growth.

Keegan can’t shoot off the dribble. He needs set threes skewed toward the corners to be successful.

Agree. A bit of a bummer. But if he can hit the 3 again….

I didn’t watch but that sounds like Doug was desperate to break the losing streak.

Do the Kings actually still light the beam after wins this season? Seems like it’s just a bit tone deaf to celebrate anything this season, esp after a 16 game losing streak.

Can confirm the beam was lit last night. I’m surprised it still worked.

Lol. They’ll sign a big flashlight to a 10-day contract after.

I’m glad for the young players that they stopped the streak.

Not much else to take away from this game. The vets ‘secured’ the win.

Pippen punked Malik so thoroughly. What is ‘regicide’ in Arabic?

Disappointing win. This does no good, none at all.
Pacers on pace to finish on top.
Mavs game nest key one. How do you spell tank? Easy M..A..V..S.

well, as the old saying goes…

You can’t win lose them all

While I am 100% in for tanking, I am glad they won. They guys needed that and Memphis is a lousy team right now so they should have beat them. We still have a couple games lead on the other terrible teams for spot #1 (in terms of ping pong balls). Russell Westbrook should get minimum minutes from here on out. I am so sick of his terrible, lackadaisical passing and then he makes a great one and Katie and the other guy gush over it. Nothing will change unless and until Ranadive lets go of personnel matters.
