Despite being listed as doubtful to play after news broke that he had suffered an avulsion fracture in the index finger of his shooting hand, Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox says he’s planning to play tomorrow in a pivotal Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors.
De’Aaron Fox says he plans to play in Game 5 tomorrow.
“No ifs ands or buts. I’m playing.”

The Kings star guard was sporting a protective covering on his finger and was seen getting shots up with assistant coach Luke Loucks.

If Fox can play and sustain anywhere near the level of play that he’s been exhibiting so far this postseason, that’s huge news for the Kings. Through the first four games of the series, Fox is averaging 31.5 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game.
#5 ain’t gonna miss #5
And a bunch of yas wanted to trade him for Ben Simmons.
And throw in first-rounders!
It’s true I seen it!
I find it a bit silly to try to stick it to people who thought Simmons might be the way to go. At the time it wasn’t unreasonable. Putting Simmons with Hali etc.
Raises hand.
Yup, I did, but that was also when the Kings had Hali, the Kings had missed 14 straight playoffs, Fox had not taken the Kings beyond 39 wins in 5 years, and had just regressed from year 4 to year 5.
The additions of Sabonis, Huerter, Murray, and Monk changes things a bit.
Anyone think the Kings would be where they are right now if Holmes was still the starting center and Buddy was jacking threes? We’d be talking Tankathon and still looking at getting out of Fox’s deal.
Context is important.
Context, shmontext. The notion of such a trade was extremely short-sighted, and McNair had a plan beyond the last thirty games of a lost season.
And, even taking context into account, a lot of people thought it was a terrible idea then, and going forward. I don’t believe that context permits you to later include things you didn’t know then as an explanation. We all had the same information at that time, and that’s really the only context that matters.
Feel better? You won the internet. Your Chrysler Cordoba is waiting in Morty’s office.
I’ve never understood this type of commenting, and I never will.

Ben who? is he still in the league?
I believe the Turkish League.
Says the guy who would have kept Jimmer, Bagley, the Greek shit bag, the guy from Duke without any knees left, etc……
All because they were cool at the time. Win? Why?
I really didn’t see him missing this game. If there was ligament or tendon damage, he wouldn’t have been able to finish game 4 (or at least would have noticed that something was terribly wrong). With just a finger bone injury it’s usually a matter of how much pain you can deal with
It’s really just a question to me of how effective he can be. Shooting, ballhandling–those could definitely be affected, and in a series in which the margins are so fine, I can’t help but worry any struggles due to the injury could be the difference.
HELL EFFING YES, LET’S GO!!!!
you come back to America right now!
Ever since you left….
No fear. No quit. Only Winners on this Kings Team.
What has 17 fingers, 3 thumbs, and lives in the nightmares of its opponents?
17 fingers?
Oops.
Don’t worry, Sims will double back in a year and a half and remind everyone that this was wrong.
Maybe Fox will grow an extra finger. Who could possibly stop a six-fingered point guard?
Other than Inigo Montoya, no one.
who can stop a well intentioned nine fingered one. ?
Probably not. He has to use his fingers and toes to count that high. That type of high order thinking is beyond him.
forgot to add two LARGE hearts and a two sets/pairs of large “eggs”
El Chupacabra?
Butler put in 56.
I say Fox’s goes for 60 tomorrow.
and it is harder for draymoron to target a little finger tip than it is to target two eyes or an abdomen.
Fook draymoron. And I applaud you for not capitalizing his name.
we are going to have our very own Willis Reed moment.
Saw this on Twitter:
Mike Brown trying to play chess. Listing as doubtful is a disgrace
coach steve does this all the time, bro. Dud fan idiot. Kerr-plunk does this all the time, trying to be cute and all.
Fox injury- avulsion fracture of distal IP joint. Depending on the “side” of the avulsion- wither a “mallet finger” or a “jersey finger”.
Compare the demeanor of Fox + Davion + HB + Keegan + Huerter to stephie, klank, poodle and draymoron.
Kings have a bit of attitude with Monk and DS but that’s it.
Sometimes the quiet ones are the strongest, not the show offs.
Kings did show some inexperience and nerves but stephie was the one who called the time out with one left. Experience did his lame brain a lot of good. Probably wanted to run out to half court and dance. “Time for me to bust out a move”,
he thought.
If it were a mallet/jersey finger he wouldn’t be playing – I’ve had both those injuries and, uh, no way. From the way De’Aaron was describing it, it sounds more like a bone chip at the very tip.
Well, in Sacramento they say – De’Aaron Fox’s balls grew three sizes that day.

Gif fail. SMH….I used to know how to do it
He’s playing !!!
If the Kings win game 5 with Fox playing well with a broken finger, I want a sculpture of a giant bronze middle finger placed outside G1C facing west, directly at the city of San Francisco. The statue of Fox can go right next to it, since Fox will be a living legend at that point.
I wonder wear Vegas has the over under for Draymond doing a karate chop on Fox’s finger. Probably under 48 seconds… I’m def taking the under
Love Fox’s attitude in the interview. Really proud of our guys this year.
