The Kings moved up to #4 at the NBA Draft Lottery. Now what?

The basketball gods gave Kings fans something to celebrate this week, and Jerry Reynolds, Will Griffith, and Tony Xypteras return with another episode of The Kings Herald Show to break it all down.

After a fortunate night at the NBA Draft Lottery, the Sacramento Kings will be selecting 4th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. Prior to the lottery, the Kings also made a few strange front office decisions.

Hear Jerry, Will, and Tony talk about it all on the latest episode of The Kings Herald Show.

Will, bench-pressing a cat is not easy at all.

I would not hold it against Chet if he can’t do that.

…listening to figure out who we are picking this year, based on Jerry’s likes.

(Like what happened with Davion last year)

If Kings keep the pick Murray checks a lot of boxes . Sharpe is very interesting but a clear risk . Trust Monte on this one .

another solid listen. Well done Will, Tony and always delightful Jerry.

I like that Brogdon idea, though I fear the price to be Brogdon and 6 (Sochan? Griffin?) for Davion and 4 (Murray?).

Another swap could include Portland 7 and Josh Hart for something like 4 and Richaun Holmes.

The possibilities are, of course, nearly endless. I just see Portland as a team that is anxious to move up – with Ivey in mind.

Thanks for a thought provoking episode.

Very interesting thoughts in regards of Vivek’s daughter being hired for Stockton Kings . Seems a clear indication that Monte is not in charge .

thanks again for the insights. I recall Jerry said some good things about Keegan Murray earlier in the year as well. If I remember correctly, something about the ball always going in, and I looked at the stats and, well, yep, he’s been a pretty efficient player.

In another podcast, in the context of building the roster, he mentioned that “seven good players” can get the job done, and he said Sabonis, Fox, Barnes and Mitchell would fit his criteria. Although the question was never asked, I’d like to know if Divincenzo would fit that as well? And Keegan Murray? And that would be six, which is pretty close.

Perhaps a bit too early to point out, or maybe never to late –

Have a gander at a 2017 Mock. It reminds us that all drafts are different and yet so very much alike.

Clear #1s, Top Tiers, potential + hope + clouded dreams. And besides the stirring of names now past, see others emerge (catch Dillon Brooks at 51 for instance).

Thanks, enjoyed that and a reminder that every draft that has a top tier and sure things that turn out to be neither . This will be no different .
