“It’s gonna take the play-offs to find out who they are.”

I would love to figure out who this team really is come play-off time. My fear though is that they fall to a play-in spot and won’t even make the play-offs.

Also, not so sure about the idea of using some more zone defense. From what my eyes told me, the Kings zone D this season has been pretty meh.

Enjoyed the podcast, as always.

We seem to give up even more wide-open corner threes when we play zone

The problem with this line of thinking is we already found out who these guys are in last playoffs. I believe.

Hierter was abused defensively and missed important shots. IE-not clutch. Barnes similar. Sabonis was unable and unwilling to shoot or make a shot. They’re “defenders” -Davion were liabilities on O. Poor D and 1/2 court O accordingly limited The Kings.

Heirter and Barnes ain’t changing. Maybe Sabonis has fixed this issue and Davion too but they shoulda moved onto better defending 2/3 and players who perform
in the clutch.

Again, I think Monte overvalued some
players. So, now we are back to the same
place. Granted, some internal improvement has happened.

Kinda a wasted year in my opinion. Not smart.

I like the idea of more full court pressure . Seems the zone is about as effective as man D . (Not ) Maybe more focus on it would show improvement ? Several teams use zone a lot and are effective but maybe this team just can’t defend .
