Tales From The Drought: Jason Thompson’s car gets filled with popcorn

As we continue to revisit fun moments from the drought, I couldn’t resist revisiting what is arguable the greatest moment of Jason Thompson’s lengthy Kings tenure. JT would leave the Kings as the franchise leader for games played, but this incident took place when Thompson was still a rookie.

JT had apparently neglected his rookie responsibility to bring doughnuts and bagels for the veterans, and the veterans showed him the consequences of shirking his rookie duties by filling his car with popcorn.

The prank has been duplicated many times against many other Kings since this moment, but this was the original. It includes a segment of The Donté Greene Show, and appearances from Brad Miller, Beno Udrih, John Salmons, and Spencer Hawes.

I’m not sure if it was ever publicly confirmed who pulled off the prank, but it’s strongly implied at the end of the video that it was Bobby Jackson.
