Kings vs Suns: Redux

The battle for “not the worst”, commences.
By | 0 Comments | Jul 14, 2017

After a tough loss last night to the Dallas Mavericks, the Kings will participate in their last Summer League game tonight at 7:00pm in a rematch with the Phoenix Suns. The game will be televised on ESPN3 or WatchESPN online.

Just a short week ago, the Suns pulled out an 89-85 win over the Kings in our first game of the Tournament. Marquese Chriss and Josh Jackson led the victors in scoring while De’Aaron Fox and Justin Jackson were the Kings two best players.

Due to a myriad of injuries, the rosters will look quite different as Marquese Chriss, Buddy Hield, De’Aaron Fox, Frank Mason III, and Malachi Richardson are all expected to sit out of the game. I would imagine that both teams will offer heavy minutes to their bench players as this is their last look at these guys before Summer League ends.

The best talent remaining for the Suns are Dragan Bender (still the coolest name in basketball) and Mike James, while the Kings will rely on Justin Jackson to have another big outing and either Skal Labissiere or Georgios Papagiannis to step up in their time on the court.

This is the last of Kings basketball that we’ll see in the next few months, so be sure to enjoy the display that is the Summer League loser’s bracket.
