Thanks for calling out the local media, Jerry. They have been soft on the team for years.
You three are an amazing listen. Keep it up.
Couldn’t agree more. I understand that local media fears getting their access revoked, but are you media or employees of the Kings?
They may not be employees of the Kings, but they are also not “media” in the trditional, journalistic way.
On X, Kenny Carraway keeps complaing that Pablo Torre keeps coming with his deep digs into the Clippers situation.
Most of these guys are just die-hard fans who created a platform, not actual journalists who are hellbent on reportying news.
If you want a chance of pushing Vivek away from being this team governor, you’ll need a much more active, relentless local press. I doubt that will happen.
James Ham and Sean Cunningham are probably the most notable Sacramento area journalists, and they tend to not call out the Kings “shit show”. It’s just downright unacceptable, imo.
100% agree. Absolutely unacceptable. The Sac Bee of old would’ve been all over this story. I’m betting since McClatchy News (corporate owner of Sac Bee) recently filed for bankruptcy they don’t want to run any story that comes with potential “being sued by a billionaire” baggage.
Kuminga staying in GS for now.
Bullet Dodged!
For now.
LOL!
Dueling Neos!
😀
“You take the blue pill – Kuminga trade happens, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Kangzland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”
Group think!
Who needs preseason? We ready!
On a string!
Hahaha! I love this community!
Kumingone! I swear I was fretting waking up in the morning to find out that Perry the platyputz caved and included unprotected first rounders.
I was fearing he’d include Keegan or Keon. I’m thinking the Dubs were holding out for that.
I figured both one of our best youngins and unprotected pick/s
This whole day has been like Christmas with all the TKH content. Thank you all! I’m saving the podcast for tomorrow during work.
It’s gonna be a…
Think this season’s going to be a
I thought about going with The Nightmare Before Christmas as well I was very close.
Would love to read the transcript in 10 minutes instead of listening for 75!
Schröder in the Basketball Hall of Fame because he won EuroCup MVP? Seriously? The last EuroCup MVP was Willy Hernangomez. Come on man…
I think its the FIBA Hall of Fame, not the Naismith Hall of Fame. To his credit, he has helped Germany win in FIBA.
Yeah, I know. So does Willy Hernangomez belong int he FIBA Hall of Fame?
So you’re saying there’s no chance .
I included that in the discussion this episode because there’d been a healthy debate about it on Twitter and elsewhere stemming from Tim Bontemps saying he should be considered.
The case essentially comes down to his international play and his impact on German basketball (and the fact that the HOF isn’t NBA specific).
2023 World Cup MVP
2025 EuroBasket MVP
2024 Olympics All-Star Five (team of the tourny)
2022 EuroBasket Team of the Tournament
A World Cup gold, aEuroBasket gold, a EuroBasket bronze, an Olympics 4th place finish.
Personally, there’s guys like Scola who have far better cases if we’re headed the international route, but was an “noooo, he can’t be… can he?” when I heard the argument and figured I’d throw it to Jerry and Tony quick and see their feelings on it.
Kuminga is to small forwards as Monk is to off guards.
The Kings have less small forwards, which made it seem like they could use Kuminga. But in reality, a below average NBA player really doesn’t help win games, regardless of position.
Good on Perry for not getting fleeced. I’d love to know how serious the negotiations were in reality and exactly what was being offered by each side.
I think Dennis will be a very good addition to this team. My fear is if he gets hurt who will take his place. Would like some comments on this. One answer but not the only one would be to trade Monk and maybe a protected first to the Magic for Anthony Black and Jett Howard. Black would be a very good backup to Schroder and Howard as a backup to the SF or PF position. Both play defense and IMO Black could be a starter after Dennis leaves.
Retract the Jett Howard perception he can play defense but is a good shooter. Still the trade for Black is a good one. DDR for Kuzma and possibly Ellis and a couple of seconds for Tari Eason. Starters: Schroder,LaVine,Murray, Eason and Sabonis. Eason IMO is a better player than Kuminga and with this trade moves Keegan to SF where he should be, Murray and Eason together would be 2 really good defenders at the wings and Eason doesn’t need the ball to be good which leaves Keegan at the 3 with a lot more chances to thrive as he would be our third option instead of fourth.
Amen to that, I suspect the Kings got saved by the Warriors greed, they probably wanted three unprotected first round picks and the Kings only would give two 😉
Heard Carmichael Dave waffling on that well the Kings only offered two protected picks and that wasn’t enough. And teams like the Kings have to take risks etc For the love of god I hope this isn’t the case
