The 23-year-old has played in 23 games with the Clippers this season.

The Sacramento Kings have made a trade with their Pacific Division rivals, the L.A. Clippers. The Kings acquired forward Mfiondu Kabengele, a future second-rounder and cash in exchange for a protected future second-round pick.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news and offered up some more details.

Kabengele has played in 23 games for the Clippers this season, averaging 1.2 points and 0.6 rebounds in 4.1 minutes per game.

The 23-year-old was selected 27th overall by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2019 NBA Draft. His draft rights were traded to L.A. for a future first-round pick and Jaylen Hands.

Kabengele’s per 36 minutes numbers are encouraging at 10.3 points and 5.4 rebounds. If general manager Monte McNair elects to deal big men Nemanja Bjelica and Hassan Whiteside before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, we could see Kabengele get some extra minutes during the final stretch of the regular season.

The Clippers declined to pick up Kabengele’s option, so he will be a free agent at the conclusion of the season.
