The Sacramento City Council discussed the push to keep the Kings in town on Tuesday, with Allen Warren stepping up to lead arena talks. Warren, just elected in November, has been seen as a no-doubt 'yes' vote, but it's good all the same to hear that he's on board.

From Cowbell Kingdom:

The city has given itself a March 1 deadline to have a pitch ready. But that pitch won't officially be made to the NBA Board of Governors until April 18-19. Mayor Kevin Johnson has recently said he'll attend All-Star Weekend in Houston on Feb. 15-17 in order to lobby NBA owners on Sacramento.

Crown Downtown had a wonderful turn-out at City Hall before and during the meeting. Huge props to the group for consistently showing up in front of the Council to remind them and city staff how committed fans are to keeping pro sports in Sacramento.
