“Yeah, we sure did screw up!” That’s been the motto for the Kings for almost the entire 40 years in Sacramento.

It sounds like all the get a first-round pick options dried up Kings added salary, traded a draft pick and lost the best player in the trade.

Loved the Wiz game – Skal and MB3 outplayed the Kings. The Wiz tried so hard to lose a game- sat out Sarr and Johnson and then benched the starters. All their G league guys had career games.
Now the only true strategy is to trade them all and keep losing.
Keon can help a good team that has 4 scorers and needs a defensive player. That’s not the Kings.
Jerry is right- Kings had to move Keon who they had messed up with- just to get rid of DS and Saric. Make a mistake to make up for a mistake. The screwed over Keon. Despicable.
Keep losing but the Kings being Kings will win.

I will feel sorry for a top pick to be selected by Sacramento. Sucks for them to come to Basketball Hell.

Bonkers!

BREAKING: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading star forward Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. to the Utah Jazz for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang and three future first-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

Also, there has to be more to the trade because Fanspo trade machine says the trade above does not work. Utah needs to cut like $8-9m for it to work.

Nice jump start for a rebuild. Utah ready to start trying to win, next season I would guess. Likely be sitting LM and JJJ a lot over the rest of the season.

Kangz meanwhile are collecting salary, getting older and sending out picks.

Utah now has some serious size now in the frontcourt. Lauri, JJJ, Kessler, Filipowski, assuming they keep Kessler and Filipowski.

I’m not sure what Utah is doing. 3 picks for JJJ seems a bit much. I don’t see them going forward with Bailey, Lauri and JJJ. Someone is moving and my guess is it’s Lauri.

Just want to point out that Sabonis and JJJ would make a solid pairing.

Hmmmmm.

The Grizzlies have also created a massive $28.8 trade exception in this deal — the largest ever in the NBA, per @BobbyMarks42.

Grizz also have a shit ton of picks. Apparently as many as OKC and Brooklyn. Could they throw their hat into the ring for Giannis?

Giannis and Ja?

I don’t see that.

If I’m Giannis, I am still looking at a team coached by Spoels or Kerr.

This does seem to be the link in something much much bigger. And Giannis as the raison d’etre.

I like what the Grizz are doing. It’s obviously not going to work with what they have: so blow it up and get them picks! Take some notes, Kangz front office..

Just in: Chicago, Minnesota and Detroit have agreed to a multi-team deal that sends Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr. to the Bulls and Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to the Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Detroit also receives a 2026 first-round protected swap from Minnesota.

As I said above… I agree with you Adamsite

All of the trades are orbiting Solar Giannis. Where will the Kangz end up in all of this? Out of the galaxy or within the Milky Way?

I’m surprised Detroit sold this low on Ivey. They’ve basically dumped him for Huerter and a protected pick swap.

This has me thinking Giannis too. Huerter, Tobias, Asur Thompson and picks might get it done. Huerter and Tobias are large expiring deals.

The Griz have a clear and concise plan following the OKC blueprint and still have Ja Moron as a trade chip.
Meanwhile, the Kangz have no plan and haven’t since that Fox trade.

Per Sam Amick in The Athletic:

The Sacramento Kings are consistently mentioned as one of the few teams — if not the only one — that might decide to get into the Morant business before the Thursday deadline. As of today, I can relay, per team sources, that they have still not completely closed the door on that idea.  That being said, the percentage chance of this actually happening was placed in the low-single-digits when I inquired about it pre-Jaren Jackson Jr. trade.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/live-blogs/nba-trade-deadline-2026-live-updates-news-james-harden/mb7lqDGshaBm/

If the Kings acquire Morant, I quit. They’re the only team who wanted Zach LaVine, and still are. They’re the only team that didn’t value Keon Ellis. They’re the only team that wanted Russell Westbrook. They’re the only team that thought Marvin Bagley should have been the #2 pick. The Morant thing is too much. It’s pointless for me to remain a fan in the face of that kind of stupidity.

I could see this. I’m sure Memphis wants some picks and I’m not sure Sacramento will be sending any out. But who know with this front office. Maybe the reason they cleared the guard logjam was to make some room for Ja.

I have not listened to the pod cast yet. I just need to get this thought out of my head and bounce it off you fine folk.

take on Poeltl to get the deal done. In return the draft capital should include 2 unprotected first round picks.

KINGS GET: + Barrett + Poeltl + Dick + 2 firsts unprotected (2026 & 2028) & 4 second round picks

Raptors get: Sabonis, McDermott, Eubanks and Westbrook.

Would you do that deal?

Jazz seemingly want to go for it next season . Sabonis would be perfect between Lauri and JJJ . Maybe W. Kessler to Kings and a 1st . Young emerging big and draft capital .
