Kevin Huerter’s hot 3-point shooting this season has fueled speculation that he might get an invite into the 2023 3-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City on February 18th. De’Aaron Fox poured gasoline on that speculation a few days ago when he basically spoiled the announcement in hilarious fashion:

And The Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson made that speculation official on Monday, reporting that Huerter has been invited to participate in the 2023 3-point contest.
Red Velvet certainly deserves a spot among the best 3-point shooters in the NBA today. Huerter is shooting .390 from 3 on 6.7 3PA per game.
Huerter will join several of his teammates in Utah for All-Star Weekend festivities. Fox and Domantas Sabonis are Western Conference All-Stars, Keegan Murray is on Pau Gasol’s Rising Stars roster, and Neemias Queta made the 2023 NBA G League Next Up Game. You can’t say the Kings aren’t getting the respect they deserve this year.
Congrats to Kevin Huerter. Go Kings.
Screw it. Put BLACK FALCON into the dunk contest for 100% of the starting Kings roster at All-star Weekend.
FALCON DUNK!
Nice! This is his first AS appearance, I’m guessing (to lazy to look it up). So many guys on this team are having career years – Fox, Domas, Heuerter, Monk(?). This group just clicks together, with guidance from the coaching staff.
This is Keegan’s best year in the NBA so far!
Hopefully this doesn’t end up being his career year.
Ofc not.
In fact, Keegan is what makes me very excited about the future. It’s how far his development that will take this team on how far it can go.
Can and will.
4 Kings going to All Star weekend. We’re slowly starting to gain some respect around the league. Light The Beam!!!
Funny how that happens when the first time in 16 years we are good.
It’s almost as if respect is something you gotta earn.
“DESERVE HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT”
or something like that i dunno
The Lakers got two players selected, so that is obviously false.
LIGHT THE BEAM, KEVIN! Congratulations!
(guy on the right practicing some Wing Chun on Kevin)
…Everybody Wang Chung tonight?
Harrison is home alone. 🙁
When the hell is the next Q&A article? I have so many questions that need answered by you gurus since we aren’t studying Tankathon already.
I guess when you are a playoff team post deadline, the only thing to talk about are the games. This is a new concept for any Kings blog.
We have no need for articles on prospect profiles, draft positioning, who’s on the hot seat takes, or off season goals. Kings playoffs articles only existed before the i-phone, Twitter, streaming, etc. We are in uncharted territory in nearly a generation.
Huerter going to the 3 point contest might be a blessing in disguise. This might bring him out of his slump.
Weird isn’t it……..what are we supposed to talk about now?
Right? This is the time of year I’m normally looking at bench guys as possible keepers, or maybe a 10-day diamond in the rough. Actively rooting for a Kings team to win on a nightly basis post all-star break is from another lifetime ago.
I welcome it.
If you didn’t welcome it, that’s automatic top of the stab list type stuff.
Not saying, jes sayin’.
It’s so weird that usually by January we’re all already looking at tankathon. What is this new feeling??
Fox capturing my feelings about this season perfectly: “Oh shit.”
Also the phrase my son uttered when I showed him the Kings’ standings in the West and a highlight reel of Sabonis assists.
OT: Kyrie making his best De’Aaron Fox impersonation tonight, almost willing the Mavs to a big comeback.
Cuban should get a real coach, quick. Thank goodness Mike Brown is with the Kings.
“Huerter is shooting .390 from 3 on 6.7 3PA per game.”
Give me Keegan at .417 from 3 on 6.0 attempts per game.
He is also 10 all-time in highest 3pt FG% ; with his six attempts per game being double most others ahead of him on that list.
Keegan would have been my selection.
10th all-time in highest 3pt FG% for a rookie.*
Would they allow two Kings?
They both deserve to participate, IMO.
Very happy to see Fox, Kevin, and Keegan be part of the All star event. Has to to a lot for their confidence being part of the “cool kids” club.
