Kings .500.
Now, look at the standings, and time to climb.
dumb moment in history.. but i spent the better part of my younger teens and adulthood thinking the man in the pumpkin head was none other than Sacramentos own Mark S Allen.
Probably some bastardized form of Mandella effect.
anywho, Go Kings.
Haven’t been able to catch the last couple games but it seems like Domas is being a lot more aggressive with his scoring? He is such a force down low even with limited verticality he could easily average 20+.
Just when I started dreaming about what flagg would look like in purple we start our winning streak
It looks like Domas decided that he will be disrespected no more. He plays with poise and purpose, but still manages to do so within the flow of the offense. Looks more decisive when operating in the paint, giving opponents less time to crowd him and strip the ball from him.
Everybody is talking about his 3 point shooting, but I especially liked the middy that he took (and made) without hesitation.
I also liked the 8 assists from DDR. He looked a bit of a ball stopper in the early games but not last night. Fox not jacking up 3’s was also good, IMO.
When you see Keon playing last night you really have to wonder WTH Mike Brown was doing the first two games.
Good game, now keep it up and build some momentum before going up against stronger opposition in a while.
Appreciate the breakdown! Yeah when i seen the box scores i was surprised he’s made a 3 in every game so far, if that confidence transitions to hitting the middy then even better. An aggressive, smart jumper taking domas is a problem for the league. Maybe coach brown finally is making some adjustments
Looking at the minutes played you can clearly see that Brown is trying to find and 8 man rotation. We need Lyles and Ellis to step it up. With a solid 8 man rotation there is hope for a playoff appearance.
9 man rotation probably. I think last year’s 8-man rotation at the end of the year was due to injuries.
Nine will be a luxury. We need eight at a minimum.
Monk, Ellis, Lyles, Len. That’s basically the 4 bench players that will get meaningful minutes.
Monk is Monk. Ellis is getting closer to a balanced game. Lyles needs to get it together because he is the only hope at the four. Len can be the rest Sabonis needs if he can play ten minutes without hurting us.
We have six, almost seven, and working towards eight or nine.
Orlando Robinson might be nearing return also.
The size will be nice to add, not sure about his skill level.
Lyles still looks like he’s shaking off the rust, but Ellis is definitely starting to contribute. He had a nice little stat line yesterday and is leading the team in blocks, deflections per minute and is second in steals.
When he scores Brown will play him more. He is trying.
You can really see big potential with this team. Really a bummer we aren’t 3-1 right now. Domas is absolutely locked in.
Domas and Derozan are carrying a big load and doing it well. I would love to see a four join this bunch. Let Keegan go back to his actual position and free up Sabonis with spacing out the defense.
On the podcast Jerry suggested playing some minutes with Len at 5 and Domas at 4. It seems worth a try.
Before this season, that absolutely wouldn’t have worked, as Domas was essentially useless beyond 6 feet. Offensive spacing would have been a nightmare.
But with his improved middle and 3-point shot, that’s now at least a slight possibility.
I’d love to see MB experiment with it for a few minutes late in a game with the Kings up 15 or so. Just to see what it might look like in game action.
the Jazz and Blazers are tanking, but I’ll take the W’s.
Last year we blew too many games to these types of teams as we all know. Good to get off on the right foot this year and take care of business.
Looking at the schedule in an ideal way…we split the Minnesota and Lakers and beat the trash in Portland and Utah. Woulda coulda shoulda but we are 2-2 instead of 3-1.
So far, so good. Won the games they should, had a chance in those they didn’t. Not too shabby.
Another convincing win against a bad team which is certainly better than last year. I thought Huerter looked really good again and Keon was a monster defensively in the third quarter. I’m not sure what the deal was against the Lakers but he looks to be back in the swing of things. This is a big road trip and the Kings should have a talent advantage in every game. Need to go 5-1 or 4-2 in the next 6 before the schedule gets a lot tougher.
Don’t even bother posting the recap now, it’s late.
I never ever hear anybody talking about this, but De’Aaron’s ball handling is lightweight trash! He loses his dribble all the time, dribbles off his foot, loses the ball when he tries to back somebody down in the paint and make a move, dribbles hella high where defenders can easily reach it, etc. It’s like a lot of the times, he moves faster than his dribble and loses it. He obviously put in a lot of work on his shot over the years, but we can’t say the same about his ball handling. As the fastest player in the league, if he really made a commitment to becoming a top 5 ball handler, he’d be damn near unstoppable.
Let’s start this movement: DFox, work on your ball handling!!!
I love nepotism that’s why I love.
We seem to be playing a bit better, however I’m still concerned about our rebounding and defense (especially 3 pt defense).
The talent level of the Blazers and Jazz is extremely low for NBA standards. They still need to cleanup the two things you mentioned.
My biggest q’s ending last season was whether 1. Sabonis could improve to make the trade that shall not be named worth it and 2.if Keegan had another leap in him. I absolutely love this 30pt and 7ast version of Domas over the 19pt and 11ast version. It’s just way more impactful on the offense and harder to guard. Even though Keegan isn’t shooting well, he’s proved to me that he shouldn’t be in another Domas level trade. If a big trade happens, I’d honestly throw Fox in there instead. His production seems replicable at this point.
