The NBA Trade Deadline is here! Teams have until 12 PM PT to complete trades, and the deals have already started this morning with a couple of big names either moving or coming off the board.
The most notable Kings news so far is that Kyle Kuzma isn’t expected to be traded, according to reports from Marc Stein.

Will the Kings make a move? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, use this thread to discuss any other trades as they happen. We’ve already seen Buddy Hield traded to the 76ers, Kelly Olynyk traded to the Raptors, and Gordon Hayward heading to Oklahoma City. Hopefully we have some more fun and fireworks throughout the day.
We will put up a separate post for any Kings-specific news or trades.

A couple ideas. I have said this before. Look at Tari Eason. A really good player and great fit. If not what about a trade involving both Deni Avdiga and Tyrus Jones. You get 2 for what ever we can trade. Players plus picks.
With the rate of inflation hitting the US hard, it has rolled over in to the basketball asset realm, apparently. No way Monte gets any of those guys.

I expect the team to attempt to sign Monk. Guy is solidly one of our 4 best players, ascending, a gamer, and an emotional leader
He is now worth more than the early bird on the market
So I will be surprised if we add salary, and don’t move it prior to this summers free agency to get below the cap to offer him more. Adamsite replied that that would mean Huerter/Barnes for expirings which shouldn’t happen, and I replied exactly, Huerter/Barnes don’t move the needle and Monk does

Monk can make more money with virtually any other team, I think. He’s gone.
Yup, and I don’t know folks can’t wrap their heads around this. Bruce Brown signed a 2 year $45M contact last summer. Monk is going to be asking for around the same, if not more. Kings can’t afford him.

Austin Reaves is a good example.. Last year the Spurs were reported to offer 21 mil if he wasnt restricted, and the cap is rising.

Monk is a good player but I think everyone here is overestimating his value in free agency. He is a good player and can definitely help a contender but if he is one of your best players, you probably won’t go too far. If that’s how much the Kings can offer him, I think he is probably resigning.

My trade deadline outlook…
If no roster moves are made, Brown needs to get off his ass for lineups. Barnes needs to go to the bench for Lyles. It balances the groups so much more then currently and gives Barnes more shots in a second unit that doesn’t have anyone that shoots besides Monk.
