With the game tied at 100 and just 10 seconds left, DeMarcus Cousins took Joel Przybilla baseline to get a lay-up and the two-point lead. It looked like Sacramento could have had the win there as the Kings seemed to close off the Blazers' options, but Wes Matthews nailed a tough three-pointer from the corner to put Portland back up one with five seconds left. After a timeout, the Kings came back, Thornton attacked and as Portland was out of timeouts, the game was over.

Cousins was brilliant in the second half, scoring 19 points on 9-12 shooting after struggling in the first half. Thornton and Tyreke Evans had 20 each, and Isaiah Thomas had another strong performance with 18 points, eight assists and one turnover. Sacramento as a whole was tight with the ball with 26 assists and six turnovers.

On that elephant in the room: there were smatterings of anti-Maloof chants (none audible in the broadcast) and a few fans like the fella above showing their displeasure. But the Maloofs wisely remained in their suite, and there were no booing sessions. Sacramento fans filled up the building (more than 16,000 in the house) and stayed classy. This was a good day for Sacramento (if you ignore the pap still coming out of George Maloof, of course).

The Kings are back at it on Wednesday. Expect the arena stuff to keep coming flowing forward.
