The Bee today reports that the Maloofs have handed over some of the sale documents requested by David Flemmer, the Bankruptcy Trustee overseeing Bob Cook's 7% share of the team that is up for auction in the coming months. Flemmer is investigating whether or not a right of first refusal exists and if it does, if the Maloofs have violated legal protocol by not giving minority owners the chance to match. As James Ham and Aaron Bruski reported last week, the ROFR definitely looks legitimate.

One interesting facet of today's news that the sales documents are being transferred is that an outline of the agreement will be given on a confidential basis to bidders for the 7%. That means guys like Burkle and Mastrov could get a rough idea of just how Seattle's deal is constructed, another tool Sacramento can use in the fight to keep the team here.

The city is clearly not focusing on the ROFR yet, instead focusing on putting together the best partners and arena plan possible. The Mayor's office hopes to reveal their counter-offer soon.
