In answer to your question in the previous game thread. I use my DVR, via Direct TV, to record the game and then pause the game until Geroud’s radio broadcast “catches up” to the actual play on the floor. That is, Geroud’s broadcast is delayed about a minute and one half behind the actual floor play.
I listen to his broadcast via Sirius XM, Channel 905, if you happen to subscribe to Sirius. And I turn the audio down on the Kings tv broadcast crew. Not for the whole game, but I do enjoy the play call by Geroud.
Tonite Gerry’s game call is about three minutes behind the floor play, it may be different for you if you tune in locally in Sacto.
Domas will get a triple double at this rate rather easily.

Awesome to get to see the whole new squad live for the first time in person. Domantas is for real, y’all. That PnR game with Fox and Davion is *chef’s kiss*. Sabonis may have been what they, and this team, needed to unlock it’s potential. Bigs that can handle and pass like him are at a premium and having him as a pillar of playmaking in the center of the offense is a joy to behold.
Also….Davion is QUICK! Totally different seeing him in real life. Fox and him look great running in transition. Now to see some of the Big Ragu!!
That pass from Davion to Mo for 3 was incredible! I don’t think the TV shot captured it well, but Davion caught it with one hand and passed it to Mo in 1 motion! Wow!!!

He shot the 3 a bit under Nate Bjorkgren last season and Rick Carlisle this year, but he’s about 32%. It’s a work in progress, I would argue.

I like the Sabonis pick up, think we traded our best player for him (I’m over it). The thing that I’m most interested in for the rest of the season is watching Davion Mitchell’s growth. I know I’m higher on him than most here but so be it. The other thing I’m interested in is seeing where we end up in the draft. I don’t believe we will make the play in….at least I hope we don’t
I think Davion will be up at 4 AM in a gym putting up shots until noon this summer before LV Summer League. I am with you, I want to watch him develop. Someone mentioned it, he needs to talk to his shoe sponsor and get some kicks that grip. He has such hard stops to shed a defender but he ends up sliding on more than a couple each game.

Not a great start. Hoping the second half goes much better. Also, it seems, not understanding how to switch on defense is a prerequisite for playing for the Kings.
Kings 9 turnovers to 0 for the Bullets. That’s bad. Some of that is bad luck though, but there was alot of sloppy play, too.

For all the complaints about the refs, the Kings have 10 more FTA.
There just seemed to be some weird calls for both teams for like a 7 minute stretch. Missed call, then a makeup call, etc.
No doubt. But, the Kings have guys who can get to the line. It shows even when there’s enough bad calls like there was as you point out.

Barnes was switched onto Kouzma late in the 2d and has been really effective keeping him in check after he was lighting it up in the first half. Really good game by Falcon.

As I watched this game I re-learn how little I know about some players in the league until I have a reason to watch more closely. Donte D is one.
I am impressed with how elite his first few steps are to the basket or on D when he has to close on a perimeter player. He is really quick. He slashed a few times to the hoop and just blew by some players in a narrow lane to the basket.

Felt like a ground and pound football team to me. By the 4th quarter, the other team didn’t want anymore. I think it’s what Sabonis does.

The only difficulty was the new players trying to fit with the old players and figuring stuff out and the refs.

We also saw how other teams will play D by collapsing on the center. The challenge is going to be shooting from the perimeter as someone (Inthestarz?) noted in the first period. That is going to be a test for this team. How do they adapt to the overplay in the paint and in the driving lanes.
The nice thing about the other players coming in with Domas is they know how to play with each other so it’s something like blending 2 teams rather just adding one player. If that makes any sense.
