Good to see that even though Domas didn’t finish, he did get a foul on Gobert. I’m intrigued to see how Domas matches up with Gobert.

Just terrible effort all around by the Kings right now. They had 2 days between games while Minny is on the back end of a b2b and the Kings look 3 steps slower than them.

The hesitation on his first three was screaming that he has no confidence in his shot. Or that’s how I took it. Not a good sign.

I’m less concerned about the defense because I felt that wasn’t that bad. Some of it was the Wolves hitting shots.
I’m concerned about how poorly the Kings are scoring the ball. And that said, it’s only an 8 point lead for the Wolves. At least the Kings are up in paint points 8-6.
Also, the Kings 10 FTA and Wolves 5 TOV’s are why they aren’t up big.

Obviously the commentary team will be biased toward their employer, but you should still be calling the game somewhat objectively. Sometimes they seem less like commentary and more like the ministry of propaganda.

This is what I get for thinking I might actually get to watch Kings basketball in the 2nd half of April. McNair needs to come up with something to shake this roster up.
This personnel cannot play Top 10 defense. We need a physical rim protector with length that can switch on defense to play next to Sabonis. I hear the Raptors have one to spare?
They only have two players that can actually play defense, and unfortunately they’re offensive albatrosses. Just crossing my fingers that McNair can address this somehow.

except when they go down by 10 in the 3rd and Fox does not look fully engaged, in the Kangz era it is more like Fox desperation ball at the end … which is just enough to make the opposing team’s crowd feel that there is a valiant adversary.

The only good thing that MAY happen but probably won’t is the Kings players come to realize that they will be lucky to make the Play In’s if they don’t start to playing Defense.
I don’t think they are capable of being a good defensive team with this personnel. Will need reinforcements at the deadline to help alleviate some of their issues

Let’s relax a bit. The ultimate goal for any team is to win the finals, but it’s a gradual process. Rarely do you see a team go from terrible to title contenders in one season. Kings have been failing at even getting to that 1st step on the way there for 16 years, and finally this year it looks like they are on the right track. Make the postseason, see where the roster shakes up in a short series, and access where they need to improve to take that next step forward
Right now, it’s fair to say the Kings are a good tier below the heavyweights. Monte will need to figure out how to find the right pieces to get this group to hit that next level of the next few years
That’s the next step for this franchise. First is simply getting to the playoffs, then they’ll have a better idea of what they need to actually WIN in the playoffs moving forward

I don’t think they are gonna remain in the 3 spot. Honestly, before the season, my hope was that they’d just be part of the play-in, but now, I don’t think it’s a stretch to hope that they can at least remain in the top 6 to avoid the play-in. Pelicans will pass the Kings when they get Zion back(just got Ingram back), Clippers are making their push now…..but I’m not sure Dallas is better than the Kings and all the other teams below them have their own issues
I largely agree with you. But if offense is our calling card how can we go on the road and play like this against a team on a back to back who haven’t shot the ball all that well this season. I guess it comes down to if we are going to beat teams with our offense then lets play some
offense. It’s up to the players to decide that if they want to play defense then lets try to play better. How many coaches have the Kings gone through who declared that the key to a successful that they had to play D. What have those coaches heard with regard to defense? Crickets man.
I think they have very realistic chance of going on the road for the play-in. With their current brand of basketball, I simply can’t see how they have a shot at staying in the top 6, unless a couple of quality moves are made to add at least one starter and one bench player of some sort of significance.

its funny how the Kings are 3rd in the west, have best start since 2004, lose 2 in a row after winning 6 in a row, and folks are ready to burn it down.
I don’t know if anyone is ready to burn it down. A minute from panic mode, arguably within reason. There is pretty much no separation from our spot in 3rd to out of the playoffs. The Western conference is a razor thin margin. We can’t afford to slip. Or we have to at least play like we care.
