It’s really hard to fathom why many teams, through their coaches, still do not appreciate the beauty and effectiveness of moving the ball. A good pass that can lead to a better pass then to the best pass. Not only it is great basketball to watch, but that scheme more often than not, befuddles the defense.
The great teams of Pops, anchored by Timmy, Manu & Tony
and The Greatest Show on Earth (2001–2002 Kings!) deserve a 30/30 docu just to showcase how correct basketball should be played.
I enjoyed watching Creighton at Nebraska two nights ago.
Coach McDermott Sr. did a Popovich the entire game in his offensive scheme – moving the ball, making extra passes and nary a single Iso play for more than 3-5 dribbles,
3.5 underdog Creighton won by 8!
Good observations, but you have to have the players that can do it. The Kings don’t.
This is so painful and disappointing to watch… the Kings entire offensive system involves an iso guard at the 3 pt line, w a big coming to set one screen…. If they can’t get a switch or make a low percentage shot they r done….
zero off ball movement or screens… zero passing into the post… it’s atrocious … and yet we keep trudging on w Walton… painful to watch honestly if they’re aren’t banging down 3’s at a high rate….
Or going one on everyone towards the basket and figuring … whatever? out from there..

I’ve been going to games since I was 3… in old arco.. I’m as much a homer as it gets, but I’m also a realist… and this is just horrendous basketball w nonexistent coaching… I think it was the Spurs game that Kayte was commenting on how must teams in the nba mirror a similar offensive system and set of plays… while we had none, and it was clear how much we got coached off the floor from jump… I just have no words sticking w this anymore… frankly my biggest disappointment of the off season was retaining Walton

Kings are shooting 32.7% and 28.6% from three but are out rebounding the Wolves by 43 to 21 and lead by 4 points. What a crazy game.

This current team does not deserve play in or playoffs. They do not make enough positive consecutive plays consistently to make anyone afraid. They’re mediocre despite winning or losing this game. This is not how the west is won.
I’m pretty sure that Walton is going to have them run the offense in a minute or two. All is well.

It’s about freaking time. You’re probably right.
Loses to Pacers, to SAS, to OKC and to Minnesota. ( and the Suns) all balanced with a win over the G league Pistons. Go 1-3 on the road with 4 of the worst teams in the league . But have to remember Kings are one of the worst teams in the league. Just like last year- 2 long losing streaks. Now have Raptors and jazz.

Not surprising that we lost to a comparable team in their own house.
Did not watch the game tonight. Instead I watched third and fourth grade girls play for a rec championship.
The coach had a game plan. The coach got the players to follow the game plan. The point guard was smart enough to know they were up by one point with less than a minute to go. After recognizing this the point guard told the rest of the team to dribble and pass, no long shots. The coach had taught this eight year old to do that.
The point guard ran back and forth across the court dribbling out the clock to get a one point win.
Can the Kangz do that?
Unlikely. Hard to see. Haven’t seen that yet. Don’t expect to see it any time soon. Have no idea what Walton’s offensive game plans are. That’s asking a lot. Could you send Luke some film?…………that would be great.
