The Kings have lost three straight. The Suns have lost two straight. Somebody has to win tonight!
Let’s talk Kings basketball!

For Your Consideration
The Sacramento Kings are back in action after suffering a beatdown Thursday night. A back-to-back, on the road, and yet there’s a chance the Kings could still win this one. The Phoenix Suns are dealing with plenty of their own struggles, and enter this game 3.5 games back of the Kings and 2.5 games out of the 10th seed. The Kings need this win if they want to stay securely in the 9th seed, and the Suns need this win if they want to even have a chance at the Play-In this season. Time is running out for both franchises. Following another embarrassing loss, we’ll see if the Kings come out with any sense of pride to start this game.
We’re still waiting to hear if Domantas Sabonis will make his return in this one. He was listed as Questionable for yesterday’s game, and was ruled out close to game time. Sabonis is getting close, but hamstrings are tricky and it’s hard to blame the Kings for playing it safe. Having Domas back would give the Kings a boost, not to mention a set of fresh legs, but I’d personally guess he sits one more game. After this the Kings are off until Monday, and those couple extra days could ensure Domas’ hammy is truly ready for game action.
Aside from Domas, the Kings are expected to be otherwise healthy for this one.
One thing I’ll be looking for in this game is for Zach LaVine to be more aggressive. He took just 6 shots in the loss to the Warriors. He needs to be a bigger part of the offense for the Kings to be successful.
Prediction
The Kings bounce back against a sub-.500 team, resulting in optimists calling me a hater. LaVine drops 30.
Kings 113, Suns 110
You should! It’s the return of the SunKings, part dieux! In fact, maybe the TKH managers should collaborate once again with BSOTN, to revive the SunKings LOL
Should we keep the streak going?
SEGABABA’s are tough on the road,
But we must play this game in win mode.
The Suns must be beaten
For our record to sweeten
And avert what a loss could forebode!
+1 Let’s avoid getting burned by the Suns!

Losing this particular game is absolutely in the Kings best interest. So they’ll probably win for no reason at all.
100% this.
yes, I second that.
and the Suns shoot the 3 ball weel That’s a Kings strength- give up the 3 to any old rando.
I really hope that LaVine will take at least 8 shots. Maybe even a few more than 10!
Leaving buckets to die like grapes on the LaVine.
Tank tank tank
Unfortunately we actually lose (in the long run) if we “win” tonight.
If Vivek and Co can’t act on the obvious than I have no other choice. I hope the Suns win to make the point obvious. This team isn’t good, should rebuild in the summer and not lose a lottery pick in the pursuit of an extra game.
Suns. Kings.

Next.
“Honey, do you want to tune in to the Kings game tonight?”

You know, Vivek, a solid base for your organization could help you get over the hump.

To the playoffs!

The Truman Show. One of Jim Carrey’s best shows.
Here is an oldie which, to me, sums up this contest

(Tank, and away from Home)
And as always –
Light That Beam! Go Kings!
Sacramento Holmes in on Booking the Tank.
What are the chances that Vlade is once again sitting court side with Vivek?
I don’t get why Vlade is around. He was the GM for 5 years under Vivek. Vicel fired him because he wasn’t good and the teams sucked. Then he brings him back and it’s like they are best friends.
Technically Vlade resigned.
Grayson Allen goes 7 of 10 from 3 pts tonight, if he plays. Bol Bol and Royce O’Neal also have season high numbers. Therefore…
Prediction: Pain…lots of pain – B.A. Baracus
No-one’s calling you a hater Greg. That’s all in your imagination. The absurdity was the Kings Herald saying they don’t want the Kings to make the playoffs.
even more absurd: Kings Herald writer trolling optimists, which includes a majority of people who root for the Kings. wowsers!
There was a comment one or two years ago when I said “do it for Greg!” with regards to winning a particular game I think. That was joking, in part because the article you posted in 2021 (since removed from the site) with the drawing of the guy with the flag in hand was so sad and honest, that I felt empathy for you and Kings fans (including myself) who went through 16 or 17 consecutive losing seasons. But, no, don’t do it for anyone who thinks making the playoffs is a bad idea and don’t do it for people who are rooting against the players making the playoffs. Do it to win! Not to lose.
The Kings aren’t going to make the playoffs so it’s a moot point. I’d be fine with them making the actual playoffs but losing in the playin feels like a waste of everyone’s time.
This has been a long and disappointing season. Full of hope initially, I faded as the Kings made no attempt to improve. They lost to a bunch of rando teams early and Brown seemed to have lost them. They fired Brown but the utter clumsiness of that ruined their relationship with Fox. Fox gets traded, a disappointing Hueter gets moved but they did not improve. That, however, opened the space for JV and LaRavia- but, by then, too little too late.
Now no functional PG, a change in style and a quick fade.
I don’t like to say this but losing may be winning at this point. They are going nowhere in the play-in and will lose the 12th pick. Although their picks have been terrible- Carter under-sized and not prepared instead of a few success stories, trade of Holmes the year before and had to give up a #1 to do that, Mitchell instead of Sengun and the lists goes on. It is not like these passed over players were all lucky picks from the teams picking later, but the obvious pick.
Poor drafting, poor meddlesome ownership, poor front office and now a team of chucker’s and no real PG.
Keep DC, fire Vivek and Monte and lose a few games.
I hate the duds for all their whooping and mugging but they have picked Post, TJD and carrot top while we twiddled away picks.
Keon was pure magic and Jones may be ok in the end but the rest suck.
I renewed my tickets and wonder why.
Can they just start Ellis/Lavine/LaRavia/Murray/Sabonis and set the tone with high energy and some defensive guys, while the offensive pecking order is established with Lavine being the guy in that unit?
No, you say? Too many egos to massage? If that is the case, then the dudes with the egos need to look in the mirror and own their shit.
Please tank. Please.
I don’t think your a Hater. I think you are a trauma survivor.
James Ham update: Domas available tonight.
I’d rather have him sit and play on Monday instead, or if he plays, play limited minutes.
Turnover on the 1st play of the game. Wonderful.
This is the game that will be unending doom or will solve all our problems.
Unending doom, Carl? Like…i’m not gonna say it, i’m not gonna say it….Groundhog Day?
Accidental tank rolling
It’s almost like the problems with three point defense weren’t coaching problems. Almost.
It’s a combo. Scheme sucks, players generally suck at defense. Perfect storm for a bad defense
This was a scheduled loss after the past 3 games.
I’m definitely glad I didn’t renew my League Pass some time ago.
Turns out Monk just need PNR with Domas
My eyes tell me that Monk doesn’t pass the ball to Lavine, like rarely do I see it. Have you noticed that?
Will look out for it
Plumlee GOAT tank commander
In a surprise to no one, the Kings are the worst team in the NBA in defensive three point FG%.
48 pt. difference from 3 tonight.
24/43 for the Suns tonight. Laughable.
Bottom 5 for 5 straight seasons, and last in two of those.
I’ve been away for awhile, but can the Kings keep playing this badly? I find it hard to watch the team for aesthetic reasons, but team is terrible as well. I guess the two go hand in hand.
Why is it that this organization seems to believe that a team can win in the NBA without playing defense and without moving the ball? Does the organization even care?
The rot from Vivek penetrates into the on-court product.
Vivek Rotadive?
The team valuation has ballooned. Ownership is printing money. That’s always been the goal. Any on-court success is just a bonus.
Can we blow it up yet?
Well, at least there’s a good chance we’re gonna be keeping our pick this year.
I don’t see them cracking even 40 wins. Not with the remaining teams we have to play.
37-45 is not out of the question.
Maybe we should ask a different question.
Not as long as Vivek is the owner.
Slow walking the post-game, TKH? God damned optimists!
Greg is such a hater, slow walking post games whether the team wins or gets flattened. /s
If the TKH writers simply gave up, could anyone blame them?
I admire their dedication. I honestly don’t know if I could do it.
