Update: 10 pm
The Sacramento Kings lost its 16th game in a row to the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night 139-122.
Sacramento was down 88-89 with 4:39 left in the third quarter. By the start of the 4th quarter they were down 14 and the Spurs never looked back.
Maxime Raynaud finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds in 26 minutes. Keegan Murray had 20 points in 36 minutes. The Spurs scored 74 points in the paint. Wemby had 28 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. De’Aaron Fox had 18 points and 5 assists.
The Kings are running away with the worst record in the league at 12 wins. The next worst is the Nets and Pacers with 15 wins.
Tank on.
From Earlier Preview:
The 2025-26 Sacramento Kings are on a historically bad run. They’ve lost 15-straight games, but that’s not all. The worst Kings team since the franchise moved to Sacramento was the 2008-09, Reggie Theus, Kenny Natt Kings. That squad had a .207 winning percentage, and went 17-65.
The current Kings could end up even worse. At 12-45, with a .211 winning percentage, one has to wonder… do these Kings have 5 more wins in them? I know the schedule lightens up as the season comes to a close, but I don’t know. Imagining 5 more wins from this squad during a 15-game losing streak is difficult. I’m not expecting one tonight.
Who: Sacramento Kings (12-45) vs. San Antonio Spurs (39-16)
Where: Moody Center, Austin, TX
When: 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET
Watch: NBCSCA / League Pass
If there was any question, and there really wasn’t, about which franchise would come out on top following the De’Aaron Fox trade, I think we have our answer. The Spurs have won 7-straight games, they are the 2nd best team in the Western Conference, Fox made his 2nd All-Star Game appearance, and is finally getting the recognition he deserves. The Kings, on the other hand, have completely fallen apart.
But Fox has a chance to help the Kings one more time tonight with a proper beating. Go Fox.
Prediction: Kings 115, Spurs 102.

On the road against Wemby and Fox,
A Kings win would create aftershocks.
Lost fifteen in a row
With no rhythm or flow.
Upon Vivek we all wish a pox!
+1 I wonder what Fox thinks of the current Kings losing streak!
It doesn’t really matter, it’s not going to make anyone feel any better.
The Spurs could play 4 players instead of 5 and would still win.
or just wemby and fox
“4 on 5… tell me more”
-Vivek, somewhere, probably
There are 8 tanking teams: Kings (12), Pacers (15), NOP (15), Nets (15), Wiz (16), Utah (18) Mavs (19) and Grizz (21). Current wins in parentheses.
Games against the other 7: Kings (8), NOP (7), Utah (7), Nets (6), Mavs (6) Griz (6) and Wiz (4) and Pacers (4)
It is easier to win against bad teams, but a loss counts double- a loss for us and a win for them. Biggest risk for Kings is Nets (2) and Pacers (1). Other than that, Mavs (1), Griz (1), Utah (1) and NOP (2)
Biggest rivals for worst record: Pacers, Nets and Wiz.
So Hali, Jordi, and…uhhh…Young-Russell-Davis.
If I am recalling this correctly, the three 1st rounders that the Kings got for Fox:
One conveyed into a pair of 2nd rounders.
One was traded so that we could draft Nique Clifford.
The 2031 unprotected Minny pick is all that’s left.
And for that, we are saddled with LaVine.
Jeebus Frosting Crimes.
yes, solid trade (for SAS and Bulls)
Time to roll out the “toughest schedule in the NBA” line.
The league has it in for us. We don’t get to play against the worst team in the league.
They may find a way to lose that game even if they did play them!
Is 19 and 6 really warranted production to make the ASG? lol Asking for a friend.
I remember in ’23-24, Kings were almost 10 gms over .500 at the time of the break. Fox was averaging close to 27/6/5, 1.5 stls and no AS selection?! WTF
The Fox AS invite this season was total BS.
Your still hating on De’Aaron Fox and hes not even on the Kings anymore?
Weird.
Just agreeing that he shouldn’t have been an AS this season. The numbers show it. Is that “hating?”
You’ve NEVER had anything good to say about Fox we all know that, but go on.
Oh no, I’m being called out for criticizing Fox! What will I do? I didn’t like the way Fox played his last two seasons in Sacramento. That’s true. The Kings’ FO also failed to make the right moves to improve the team around him. I don’t miss seeing him go 1-6 from three and I’m happy the Kings aren’t paying him that new contract.
Oh will you hush. Now ones trying to hear all that nonsense just fan how you want to fan its not that serious.
Huh? I didn’t start this. Thank you for your permission to have free thoughts. You’re the one who made it serious. My take on Fox is pretty common.
Your really that bothered that I called you out on your Fox hate? I shouldn’t of done that I apologize. Never seen you this feisty before.
Can you stop with the insults and name calling already? I just responded to your comments and you clearly have an issue with that.
What name did I call you?
Quit playing victim.
The fact you actually had 3 people who agreed that I insulted and called you names is quite impressive and disturbing at the same time.
It’s just weird the disparity, even if SA is 2nd this year and Sac was 8th in ’24. I’m still shocked Domas & Fox BOTH made it the 1st year. Gotta put up 33/16/12 just to have a shot being a King…even if the team’s record is 10 gms over .500 lol
Remember, Fox was a late ad. I guess the question is, who got snubbed in favor of Fox?
He’s been the 2nd best player on the 3rd best team in the league. /Shrugs
Several players on good teams should have been named to the AS team over Fox.
LOL
LOL !
For example?
Yeah im still waiting on that list of players he’s talking about but I don’t think we’re gonna get it.
Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Alperen Şengün, Michael Porter Jr., and Lauri Markkanen. Some debatable examples…
Leonard was there. Sengun and Markkanen are international players, and a replacement was needed for the American teams. MPJ is filling it up for one of the worst teams in the league, and those teams are rarely rewarded with all-star nods. Harden might be the only reasonable argument here.
I like Foxy as an All-Star, good winning teams should be rewarded. Any clown can put up numbers. Fox is the only reason we were winning games and a big reason the Spurs are a legit contender already. He’s not like a perennial lock type All-Star yet but after this year he could be for a few years.
Kudos to Cornrows and Royale for the entertaining popcorn thread ????????
We need more of that passion around here.
It’s been a pleasure.
JFC cut Westbrook already.
Lol
Is Kayte really talking about “statistical improvements” made by the Kings this season (in recent games) that might take two seasons to come to fruition? Wow, that’s a new low.
How long does it fucking take to say, “Max is having a good first half”?
You: 7 words
Kayte: 500 words
Kayte is being paid by the word . May end up bahkrupting Vivek .
Geez just shut up. What do you expect from her. Her role requires her to be an advocate for the team.
Does it require her to talk over action and the PBP all game long . I mute but feel free to listen to her stream of consciousness.
So no Devin Carter tonight? Imagine being in last place with two recent first round picks (one in the lottery) coming off the bench.
Not playing Carter if he’s healthy is completely inexcusable. And Clifford and Plowden’s minutes are too low.
No. So far he’s a wasted pick. The organization obviously does not like him behind the scenes and it’s hinted with his bad play so far and joke shooting.
so far has the earmarks of a joker who doesn’t take the game seriously, as evidenced by his backward stats in the nba and g league.
if they don’t want to reward that with minutes, maybe culture
Maybe they’ve seen enough to know what they have in Carter already and don’t think he’s good enough to earn the playing time. Instead they’re investing the time in players they want to know how they fit as part of this team’s future, players like Westbrook and Deebo.
Kayte said Doug went with Plowden OVER DC tonight because of the Spurs’ size. Bahahahaha….what? They should BOTH be playing. WTF? We’re in last place Kayte!
Why was there a prediction of the Kings winning 115-102? Do we not take that function a bit serious?
Nope.
Very serious. It is a reverese jinx strategy that has a whole scientific approach behind it. It sill needs some tinkering but it’s solid.
Certainly not a great return for Fox however we must realize we won nothing with Fox and we’re not going to win with him in the future.
There is no mystery what needs to be done at this point. Number 1, hope you get lucky with the draft balls and MAKE THAT PICK COUNT BIG TIME.
For the 2026-2027 season I think you have to ride out the contracts of LaVine, DDR and possibly Hunter and hope at the trade deadline you can get some draft capital for their expiring contracts. I would not move Sabonis at this time and immediately start our draft pick. Be careful not to make any stupid deals where we lose draft capital.
My lineup for 2027
Sabonis
Murray
Nique
Hunter – possibly move him at trade deadline
First Round Draft pick.
LaVine, Monk, Raynaud, draft picks off the bench. I would not play DDR but I would not give up any draft capital to move him.
After the 2026-2027 season, consider taking on a bad contract for more draft capital. MAKE THE 2027 DRAFT COUNT BIG TIME.
So basically hope for a little luck, draft wisely, and develop your young players and this can turn around in a couple of years. Down the road the 2031 pick from Minnesota could be significant as a trade chip if the rebuild is progressing well.
There is hope with good management.
“There is hope with good management.” This is the hole in your plan.
Here’s an idea that will make Silver and sports betting sites happy: Expand the league to 4 more teams. Like soccer, have a premier league and a league looking to elevate to the premier league. Top 16 teams stay in the premier league and are all in the playoffs. Same for the junior league of 20 teams. 20 teams in the playoffs. No lottery. Just sign players. The team the Kings have now would be in the playoffs no matter what, making Vivek happy. Maybe they’d finish ahead of a team from El Paso or Las Vegas.
Would love to see the Kings play a good G-League team, I predict it would be a very competitive game.
