To all those complaining about a lack of defined game thread for summer league…case closed. Keegan or not.
keegans the whole point of the thread lol then on top of that most of the starters didn’t play either

1 – let’s not act like a one sentence summer league game thread was a lot to ask for.
2 – let’s also not act this way when clearly this game wasnt going to garner much interest. No Keegan, no Ellis, no Queta, and of course – no Frankie Ferrari.
where were the other threads except for the Suns game and California classic thread? Also, that one suns -kings summer league thread had more comments than the recent chain mail and KZ thread.

That one Suns game thread from a few days ago had exactly 3 comments posted during the actual game, and none of those 3 commented were on the actual game. Just about every comment in that thread was on Keegan Murray and what he may become.
Folks shouldn’t whine about something missing and then when it is offered say, “oh…nevermind.”
It seems to me, folks just want an open thread to talk about whatever, whenever they like, rather than a game thread.
This is also why I suggested a few threads spread out over Summer League rather than one just dedicated to a single game Adam. Because it was clear there wasn’t that much interest in a single game.
But what do I know? I’ve only been commenting at these places for 15 years…

Hmm…just took a look at that old site where the “superior” coverage has generated a combined total of 15 comments spread out over their last 5 articles—including just 1 for their coverage of that last Summer League game.
There were more comments and complaints about there not being a game thread then there were in the actual game thread to follow. Some folks just like to complain.

Keegan has looked significantly better in almost all aspects except maaaaybe defense.
He’s looked outmatched and oblivious on offense.
They have him playing center. What the heck is that all about. He’s about as big as Murray, and I sure wouldn’t want Murray playing center. In spite of that Smith is getting double rebounds, but only scoring a little over 10 points a game.
Murray would absolutely RUIN Summer League centers.
Both Smith and Holmgren very underwhelming in Summer League . Yes, it is Summer League !
Summer league but you’d always prefer to look good vs bad in practice scrimmages

Smith can move well on D but his offense seemed unrefined. shot 4/15.
I wouldn’t call Smith underwhelming. I saw I guy able to guard in various positions on the court, I saw a guy with a big rebounding radius, I saw a guy very capable to create his own shot, although he hasn’t shot well I saw a guy that is a capable shooter with a lot of range. Lastly, I saw a guy that can still impact the game when his shot is not dropping. I’m not sure what you were watching.

So the Kings go 6-2 in summer leagues. Very well could have been 7-1. We own the off-season!
