I’m almost willing to bet you made this comment right around the midpoint of the first quarter. The Kings defense WAS solid at the time and I said the very exact thing you said “we look unstoppable.” We looked like apex predators coming out, then…well, hmm…I’ll just chalk it up as the preseason.
Man, Fox is not the shifty, skinny kid he was. He’s got that LeBron James build these days – grown ass man size and strength will all his old athleticism, and higher IQ than ever – just at 6’3′ instead of 6’8″. If he becomes a 38% 3 point shooter he might really ascend to superstar in a way I never anticipated.
Javale and Monk already in sync on the PnR. Javale really is such a quality pickup as that size, rim protection, and lob threat that the Kings were missing as a complement to Sabonis. I think he’ll really excel here. Duarte was showing some defensive versatility early, too.

At this point in the season, I think it’s probably time to have the discussion about whether the Kings should blow it all up and tank for a top 3 pick.
Starters look solid as expected, bench rotation needs some work, Vezenkov is as advertised and looks sharp/understands the flow of offense, Mitchell’s three looks much better, still needs to work on the playmaking. Ellis is going back to the G League, bunch of other bench players looked rusty. Bench defense looks really underwhelming, considering Brown is putting them out there for their defense.
Imagine what Sasha is gonna be able to do with Fox and Sabonis. That offense was out of control on the 3rd unit and he still had 12 points in 11 minutes. Constantly moving, working to get open. What probably impressed me the most was how often on both ends of the court he put himself in great rebounding position. I was curious how his rebounding would translate and I know it wasn’t against starters but the positioning was great.
Yeah He just looks like he knows how to score. like a fish in water. And you can see his feel for the game in the way he positions himself on both ends. He’s already a lock for All-Rookie.
Went as expected…the starters and offense were really fun. Defense was subpar, especially with the 2nd unit. Javale is a great fit and I love him already…but still uncoordinated. Vazenkov looks comfortable offensively, but his defense is lacking and looks lost sometimes on that end.
My big takeaway was Fox’s added weight looked good…and Duarte is not great. His shot wasn’t there, his defense looked terrible, got bullied by OG. Honestly, I would much rather have Terrence Davis than Duarte. At least TD brought athleticism and microwave potential. Kings will need to upgrade the SF position to make a jump in the playoffs.
Keegan and Sasha I’m here for it. I was a fan of Duarte coming over, but he might be out the rotation quick. Fox, you don’t go 0-6 and do nothing, his lows are still entirely too low (imprint is innate)

Anybody having trouble with Kings.com?
Yes. I kinda remember the same thing happened last year for pre-season games.
Kings.com/live
Keeps saying error page.
Go up to your url and remove anything added to it… type /live
such a kangz move =\
League pass is indeed working (and has a 7 day free trial)
I just hope everyone has fun and nobody gets injured.
Go Kings!
I signed up for the 7 day trial, but I’m not getting the broadcast.
Huh. Might be because I am currently located out of market (visiting Buffalo)
James Hamm reported can be watched at kings.com!
If anyone is actually watching from Kings.com, please post your success. I am not sharing in your good fortune. 🙁
Working for me finally, Kings.com/live like Ellis5 said.
Kings up20-13
Defense looks solid. Offense looks unstoppable. I’ve never seen a Kings team look this good, and its the first game of the preseason.

GK4L (Go Kings 4 Life)
I can’t even get it on radio. What a burn!

1Q in and the defense looks more active to me.
Davion is clamping up players and raining threes good lord
8-0 runs at the of quarters are
not helpful. Our second units ought to be better than 70% of other teams.
It’s working! What a blessing!
35-35…..how much D is being played

No Sasha??
Defense still looks awful. Keegan, though… Oh yeah
It’s definitely turned south from the first quarter.
The bench has zero playmaking going on
At this point in the season, I think it’s probably time to have the discussion about whether the Kings should blow it all up and tank for a top 3 pick.
Can’t tank this year. They traded away their #1 pick.

I was a little disappointed that he didn’t get any time with the regular rotation.
