Would we be interested in Bey for the Kings? What might he cost at this point? I liked him at 13 before Tyrese fell to us a couple years ago. He could be a good fit and maybe flourish in a new setting?
Awesome pass by Ivey through his own teammate’s legs to Killian Hayes for the easy jumper.
Really want Murray to go off tonight.
Your wish has been granted.
Also, Ivey fouled out.
Maybe the average NBA fan hasn’t caught on yet, but NBA coaches and players notice Sabonis is a PROBLEM at center not unlike a Jokic. He’s difficult to game plan for in Jordi’s offense.
Kings going small early. Sabonis, Barnes, Davis, Monk, and Delly.
And Sabonis with foul two with 4:02 left in the first. Could be some interesting lineups in this game.
rebound
Now Ivey with two.
This is the picture of an immature basketball team. Reckless with the ball, fast paced, lots of hacks, etc. They play with lots of energy but no precision, coupled with some astounding athletic gifts in Duren and Ivey.
Can we get some Holmes minutes? Been a real rough stint for Metu out here
At the end of the first: Pistons with five offensive boards, Jalen Duren with four.
Watching Metu post up Bagley, I was wondering which one is the better player. Probably Bagley, but not by much.
Monk and Barnes have the right idea. Keep attacking them
Love this lineup to start the second: Fox, Monk, Davis, Keegan, Sabonis.
Fox, that shot needs to be down, wide open three miss to the three point giveaway on the other end.. his shooting inconsistency continues,,
Pistons really gonna hit their 3’s again vs the Kings like last time huh? So damn annoying
So now we gotta hear Kayte and the annoying Detroit PA announcer
Leave Kayte alone and watch the game.
You really, truly, honestly don’t have to hear Kayte, you know.
Actually you do if you want to watch Kings talkfest .
No one is that helpless.
Nice D. Kings force a five-second count on the Pistons unable to inbound.
sluggish half but not surprising after how exhaustive that last game was. Last game on a long road trip. Kings gotta find that 2nd gear in the 2nd half and pull away from a young Pistons team
My stream cut out on that Bagley 3… please tell me he missed
Barely grazed the front of the rim.
Thank you!
Good hustle by Fox for the second chance
Kings trying to push the pace some more now. Good to see
Nice save by Fox in a broken play. Inside of a turnover leading to a layup the other way, he brought it back from the backcourt and hit a jumper from the top of the key.
That four-point swing is all Fox.
Instead of a turnover, that is.
18 FTA for Detroit already
Nice to see Keegan driving more instead of spotting up at the three point line.
Was Davion listed as out this game?
Out from illness
Keegan should have grabbed that rebound over Cory Joseph at the end of the first half.
Really poor finish to the quarter. Kings need to find that spark in the 2nd half
Kings down eight at the half. Piston advantages so far: rebounds (25 to 15), with 8 offensive rebounds to 3, free throws (20 to 14), and threes (40% to 26.7%). Turnovers and overall FG% are similar.
More and more, it seems like the Kings wait until the second half to turn it on against lesser teams.
Keegan doing it all
That three looked really good.
Exactly what you want to see from the Kings to start the 3rd
Jaden Ivey with his fourth foul in the first minute or so. Nice.
That was such a sweet pass by Fox
Yeah, and the Kings never seemed the least bit worried being down by eight.
Once again, the Kings turn it on to start the second half.
was a nice run
Heurter….and it was a sweet 3
Delly shooting motion is something else lol
From what I’ve seen so far this season Delly would rather make the pass than take the shot. I have no idea how many points he’s scored this season but I’m guessing he’s averaging less than 2 points per game he plays in
OT but today I learned that Delly’s nickname is Outback Jesus
Where di you hear that?
SB Nation (bad, I know) nickname hall of fame. Quick Google search yielded a Cavs subreddit post confirming it
Thanks
bench bleeding the lead away. Good timeout there
Without Davion, our bench is looking pretty ragged.
And Fox comes right back in. Good.
If I weren’t so lazy, I’d find out the third-quarter scoring of the Kings vs. their opponents this season.
Because I’ve seen this movie before.
Fox to Holmes. Fox has had at least three excellent passes this game.
Getting killed on the glass is what is keeping Detroit in the game. 13-3 advantage Detroit in OREB
The way Delly is playing, I wonder if Fox is just going to finish this one.
Time to bury them for good
That recovery by Fox!
Alrighty Kings…do this for MichaelMack’s Mom.
For MichaelMack’s Mom!
Yea Kayte, that was a tough one, Barnes elbowed him in the face, like come on
Nonstop calls.
Detroit already in the penalty. Keep attacking them
I’ll take HB getting the Offensive foul any time. HB recently has reminded me of a shark…..not a great white….maybe a bull shark….but on the hunk for blocks, shots, boards, dimes etc. Super engaged…very aggressive in an HB kinda way
This made me hungry for some reason
Bull sharks are always hungry
Free throws virtually even.
HB good D, draws the offensive foul.
JFC refs!
5 fouls for Huerter
Phenomenal 4th for HB
BTBDPOG awards.
I’m just taking a wild ass guess HJP: Back to Back Defensive Player of the Game awards? Yes?
Chicken Dinner!
Go to NBA TV web site or UTube later. Harrison was wearing the DPOG bling while they interviewed him. He got the biggest grin when they asked him about “The Chain”.
Jaden Ivey a non-factor so far in this one.
I’ll take a quiet 20 from Keegan over an exciting 5 from Ivey any day
And now he just fouled out. Forgettable game for him
Now that Keegan is starting to steady himself, I expect him to prove obviously more effective than Ivey by the end of the year. I expect 3rd in ROY.
HB has way more value on this team than anyone will offer us in the trade market imo and idk why he can’t play here 3-4 more years.
4 years very possible. Around the basket he has more variety in his iso game than anyone on the Kings, though Domas is quite accomplished. Harrison is great on both sides of the basket on offense. That last bucket is a good example. Just excellent creativity.
I also think he’ll be an excellent tutor for Murray. Barnes doesn’t get by guys with burst, but he knows how to use his physicality and clutches, fakes, and other moves to create space for inside buckets. Murray needs to add more wrinkles when he attacks the baskey.
Rec
Barnes is really in great shape. He can play five years if he continues to take care of his body. A class guy who can take anyone down low. And your point about mentoring Murray is spot on
Four Kings players have outscored the Pistons’ top scorer. How’s that for balanced scoring?
I’ve never seen Sadiq bey before but I think I see why so many folks Here like him
Malik Monk and Sabonis PnR ALLL DAYY
And Ivey fouls out. Don’t know why, but I really wanted to see that.
Keegen shows why Jaden wasn’t picked with the 4th pick
Challenge that. He got all ball first. That’s a block
Looked clean to me but pistons announcers calling it a hard foul
Beef stew gotta be one of the best nicknames
I would bet a cheeseburger they shorten that to “Meat” in an endearing way among his buddies.
🤣 think I’d take that bet
Ha.
Double cheeseburger. Grilled onions.
FOX!
Love to see fox’s athleticism
I must have not been paying attention but why isn’t Davion playing tonight?
Sick
Out sick I believe
The non COVID bug that seems to be sweeping the NBA last 3 weeks
It’s so nice not having buddy dribble it up in the 4th
I actually agree with you. But…….the longer that Buddy’s been gone the more I appreciate him. I’m over his shit during negotiations and in fact he didn’t say much about the Kings that wasn’t true. Buddy is what he is, his game is largely offensively based but he also had a nice two man game going with Richaun and he didn’t take many games off. But….OMG how many shots did he take where you’re going no,,,,no oh shit…no!
The making of a playoff team just happening in front of our eyes on the flat screen on this road trip.
This Detroit team has some interesting pieces huh?!
Duren!
Bogdonavich! How would you like to have him on this team. Fierce, fierce competitor. Plays hard every single second. Dead eye shooter.
Yes. I was not all that familiar with his game until he came to Detroit this season. I’d love to see him on the Kings. No wonder that every team in the Association who is looking for a difference maker appears to be in the mix for him. I also understand why Detroit is very reluctant to trade him
He is a flat out difference maker that doesn’t get his fair due, but that guy comes to play and compete every night. He has the complete offensive outside-in game. Really fun to watch…and fear. When he came in with about 7 minutes left in the game I thought “Here he comes, time to play our best D on him”.
I share your opinion.
Domas with the exclamation point to finish things
Beam Me!
Does that count as a TO for Fox?
Yea
Yes
Minus Cunningham, it was hard to expect much from the Pistons, but this was a pretty fun game to watch.
Off Night would counter him. But, he is a talent, no doubt.
3-3 on a difficult road trip. I’ll take it.
Handled their business and finished 3-3 on the road trip. Should be a rewarding flight home for the squad
.500 feels good for this trip
Kings win! 3-3 on a very tough and taxing road trip!
Let’s get some more! On pace for 47 wins this season!
LIGHT
THE
EFFIN’
BEAM!!!
Detroit announcer [about the Kings]: They survive . . .
LOL
LIGHT THE BEAM! (First Time getting to say that) woooooh!
OT, if you are ever in Detroit they have done a great job in the downtown area around the Tigers and Lions stadiums, lots of nice little bistros, small unique bars in the old alley ways, more than a few really fabulous breakfast places and the trails along the river are great. And, in motor city a lot of land cruising in spectacular cars. Worth a visit.
Yep, after a 1-3 start on this trip 3-3 looks damn good. Would’ve really sucked to have lost this one. Wanted a 20-2 run to start the 3rd. 17-2 pretty damn good. Never let Detroit really get back in it after that. Liked seeing Richaun get some time. Anyone else rather we’d kept Quinn Cook as our third PG?
50% road wins is a winning ratio
Harrison on NBA TV…”Coach did a great job of putting in the structure. We practice something every single day and it is showing up in our wins.”
”We are a resilient team…we are stringing together games, stringing together wins…we try not to look too far ahead, we try to not stack losses.”
Barnes is wearing the DPOG chain around his neck.
