Kings vs. Nuggets Preview: Rise of the Cranberry Kings

The Kings have awoken from their Thanksgiving nap with red dripped all over their jerseys and are at home and ready to take on an extra helping of Nuggets!

Turkey Day has passed! The stuffing should be mostly gone, the turkey is just the dry, white bits in a container of meat sweat and whatever Tim’s favorite portion of the meal might be is entirely untouched in the back of the fridge, waiting to be throw out when your making room for your New Years Eve booze. The Kings have come home and will waste no time getting back into the thick of things: they take on Nikola Jokic, the man who perfectly captures the way I look after my post-Thanksgiving gorging session. It’s an early one today so grab that nooner beverage of choice, dish out a bowl of three days young pumpkin pie and like everything else that’s after Thanksgiving and before New Years: get ready for a lot of disappointment! Let’s talk Kings basketball!

When: Saturday, November 30th, 2:00 PST

Where: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, CA

TV: NBCSCA

Radio: KHTK Sports 1140 AM

For Your Consideration

Lil Nuggets on the Nuggets: The Nuggets are a damn good team, with a damn good coach. They’re 13-3 overall and doing it on the backs of the 2nd best defensive rating in the league while holding their opponents to the lowest output in the NBA. Crazy right? When you think of the Nuggets, you’re seeing Jokic dimes and Jamal Murray doing whatever great things Jamal Murray obviously does. But, they’re rocking it on the defensive end which is mighty odd considering their best player is only ever spoken about for his passing and scoring acumen. Their only losses come to the Mavericks, Pelicans and Hawks, three teams with dynamic facilitators running their offenses. This game is at two o’clock and I really have to go find myself a recliner while the deals are still piping hot.

On the Kings side of things, they’re still going to missing Marvin Bagley. While there was some speculation that he might return after the road trip, he was ruled out of at least the next two games. Okay. Enjoy the game, everyone!

Prediction

I don’t get the recliner of my dreams. Bogdan gets himself close to a triple double with 18-10 and 6 rebounds. Harrison Barnes scores a 20 piece. Buddy Hield hits 6 threes. Somewhere on some broadcast or piece they mention that Mike Malone still doesn’t wear purple. Neither do the Kings, suckers, so find a new slant!

Kings: 104, Nuggets 101
