It’s a super early game, on a Sunday, on Halloween! I really don’t have to hype this game up for you.
Luka Doncic, great! Jason Kidd, terrible! The Sacramento Kings, playing to the level of their competition but winning more of those games than losing!
Let’s talk Kings basketball!
When: Sunday, October 31st, 12:30 PM PST
Where: American Airlines Arena, Dallas, TX
TV: NBCSCA – Mark Jones (play-by-play)
Radio: KHTK Sports 1140 AM
For Your Consideration
Spooky Luka: The Kings and Mavs roll into today’s afternoon contest sporting identical record and fairly similar leaning-positive-with-some-hesitation proclivities from their respective fanbases. The Kings have really, really played right to the level of their competition early in this season, going back and forth with them for three round before going into the fourth quarter with closed eyes, steering wheel in the hands of a non-denominational religious savior. They realistically have had a shot to win every single game this season and vice versa, so while we continue to preach that the W’s and L’s are all that matters… The sustainability of those W’s is still a little shaky. The Mavs: hell they’re easy to show for early on: is your team under .500? I’m sorry but you have lost to the Dallas Mavericks. Oh, no, your team, like the Kings, is above the break even point? Congratulations then! Your team has beaten the Dallas Mavericks!
The Mavericks have been beating the teams they’re supposed to beat and haven’t figured out how to win against teams with early season success. The Kings are pulling the equivalent of a first timer at the arcade blindly button-mashing their way through Mortal Kombat random opponents and, to be fair, they’ve been pretty successful early on. While I can’t say for sure these aren’t just all random happenings, they do seem to be slowly figuring out what’s working for them.
Tonight’s game features a Dallas team that hasn’t seemed to figure out how to score in Jason Kidd’s offense. I mean they’re scoring at a Kings-with-Zach-Randolph rate. Wait, no, I just checked and I want to amend this statement. They Mavericks are scoring almost two points per game less than the Kings squad that featured a washed Zach Randolph as their leading scorer. Dallas is average a dead-last-in-the-NBA, 97.0 points per game and going at the 7th slowest pace in the league. They’re second to last in the NBA in two point attempts and two point percentage and while they hoist up the third most three pointers in the league, they’re 27th in the league in percentage at just 31.0% from deep. They are the worst shooting team in the league. Nearly as shocking to anyone who doesn’t know who the hell their head coach is, they’re 29th in assists. So, a team featuring Luka Doncic can’t score and can’t pass. Going great, Mark Cuban!
That’s really all I’m going to say on this Halloween Sunday! You get the picture! Stay safe, don’t drink and drive. Insert joke about weed candies here.
Prediction
You didn’t buy enough candy, you forget about this game until you aimlessly check Twitter in the grocery store checkout line and it’s already the third quarter and the Kings go two games over .500 to everyone’s spooky delight.
Kings: 114, Mavs: 101
Finally an early game for us Europeans but the Browns also play the Stillers.
Tough decisions.
You could just go watch Dune instead!
I would but I’d rather watch the 1230 Pacific start of this game.
Last season the Mavs couldn’t beat us.
Right now think they’re anxious to meet us.
With today Halloween
And the wild swings we’ve seen
A Kings win would both trick and treat us!
Holmes!
Are fouls down as well. Is this just a symptom of the refs and league letting teams play actual defense for the first time in 20 years?
Yes, they are. And this is a good thing, IMO. Let them play.
“BAD LUCK

BRIANDE’AARON”!Lol. I don’t know if you’re on Twitter, but I tweeted a link to this on my timeline.
Wait, what???
Are you serious?
I definitely didn’t see that, but damn. This is getting weird.
I see a lot of Kings twitter stuff, and now I feel like maybe I’m just stealing people’s ideas.
I think what Catterj said is that he/she linked to your post and sent it out on Twitter.
I think. Could be wrong.
Regress away from the mean, Flying Fox!
Sac seems to have emphasized defense just in time
Happy Halloween everyone! Enjoy the early matinee game!

I’m not sure I believe in this Kings team yet, but I do believe in Jason Kidd. His efforts will give us a strong chance at victory. Thank you, Jason!
LOL.
Walton against Kidd; who will outcoach himself?
Imagine the hilarious jokes if Chauncey Billups were at the game, too. “So three ‘alleged’ abusers of women who still have high-paying coaching jobs because the national media brush it under the rug walk into a basketball arena…”
No Kristaps.
Just Kings stops!
never mind
Oh damn. I am on twitter, but I don’t recall seeing your post. But if I did, I apologize for stealing your thunder! (wasn’t intentional)
I think I did see on twitter a fanpost by you, though, about your Davion defensive GIF breakdown. I thought it would be here on TKH, but I haven’t found it. Is it in the Discord?
Oh I thought you made that. I didn’t tweet it first. I tweeted a link to your comment here at TKH.
The fanpost was on Kings Landing, the fan forum for TKH. That used to be relatively hidden in the menu as “Forum” but now it’s completely gone which is weird. Oh well.
Ohhhhh….hahaha, I thought you meant you wrote the “No Kristaps, just Kings stops” thingy on twitter earlier, and then I happened to write it here afterwards. 🙂
Shucks! I really wanted to see your Davion breakdown. Is it on twitter or somewhere that I can view it?
The writing is on my Google Drive, and the gifs are on my postimages.org account, but Kings Landing was my place to publish them together. I’m guessing the forum probably comes back soon. There has been some recent issues with logging in for excluding-U.S. commenters. I wonder if the disappearance of the forum is related to that.
They tried to shut me up.
It’s a conspiracy!
The Dutch aren’t important enough to concoct conspiracies against, Dutchman.
These early games back east always seem like a scheduled loss regardless of the team being played. I like the matchup though.
