Kings vs. Magic: The End Is Near

The Kings have 9 games remaining, and this is certainly one of them.

We’re almost there, friends. 9 games left, including this one in Orlando tonight. We can do it.

Who: Sacramento Kings (19-54) vs. Orlando Magic (38-34)
Where: Thursday, March 26th, 2026 7:00 PM ET
When: 4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET
Watch: NBCSCA / League Pass

The Kings got absolutely demolished by the Charlotte Hornets Tuesday. They hold an identical record as the Orlando Magic, so I’m bracing (and hoping) for a similar result tonight.

The most notable bit of business heading into tonights expected slaughter is the return of DaQuan Jeffries. The Kings have brought in Jeffries on 10-day hardship contract to account for all the injuries that continue to pile up. Jeffries had been playing well for the Stockton Kings, so this move isn’t terribly surprising.

If the name sounds familiar, it should. DaQuan played for the Kings back in 2020-21. He was a fringe NBA player then, and remains one now. At 28.5 years old, this may be his last shot to make an NBA impression. Could they have brought in a younger player? Perhaps someone we haven’t seen before? Sure, but also, whatever.

Prediction: Kings 117, Magic 101.

The Magic should not break a sweat—
Beat us bad in our last tete-a-tete.
No time for consoling;
Just keep our tank rolling.
Vivek’s tenure’s been naught but regret!

I ran the Tankathon sim lottery 10-12 times this morning.
The Kings moved up once in those simulations, from four to two.
Every other simulation dropped the Kings, usually to six, but in three simulations the Kings dropped to eight.
Oddly, the Mavericks ended up with the No. 1 pick in four simulations.
Is the fix in again???

If the Mavs get the #1 pick again, I will permanently quit watching the NBA.

I don’t care if there are a bunch of injuries – 38 minutes is still too many for DDR. Looks like he nearly willed another meaningless win today. Final score was too close.

Seriously. And Precious. No need for these guys to play much at all- if at all. So dumb

I have to say that I enjoyed the game. Glad to get the L and that game didn’t suck to watch.

Perfect tank game . Fun game to watch and the result was a close loss . Better be more selective with DDR minutes because he can be a factor in winning .

Still surprised HOU made no moves at the TD, they really should’ve looked at someone like DDR for their playoff run.

It looks like Adam Silver really wants to make tanking rule changes and I realized that tanking for the draft was literally the only path for small market teams to be able to compete. So when the rules are changed teams like the Kings will have an even harder time succeeding.

It’s really just about the league having more control over which teams and franchises do well and are able to make the most profits for the league. Bad teams need good picks there’s no good reason to change anything. The Kings will really be horrible forever with these new rules.

I should just give up at this point, not sure if there is any hope now or ever for this franchise.

Adam Silver: “The beatings will continue until the Lakers, Knicks or Celtics win every year.”

At least they’re bringing the Knicks into it.
