What a bunch of (probably can’t say it here). I guess I’m listening to the radio broadcast on kings.com. Hope they don’t pull this during the regular season.
It’s nearly 2024 and the Sacramento Kings are still incapable of providing their fans with a way to watch games. This is supposed to be a spectator sport is it not?
What the fuck? Made plans to watch my first Kings game of the (pre) season and I get cock blocked? The regular sports channel that normally carries them is showing garbage…why can’t they have the game?
Duarte has no idea what he’s doing, nor what he’s supposed to be doing. Just a totally confused player in role and fit in the offensive and defensive systems. Clearly lacks confidence out there. He’s a long way from being playable, but I wouldn’t give up on him just yet.
Living in San Diego so I could watch the game. A few thoughts.
Unlike some, I can see the appeal of Duarte. His effort on D is evident and he appears to have the length and athleticism to make a difference on that end. He also was a great corner outlet for Fox on drive and kicks. There were a few of these tonight and he was 4-4 from the field and 2-2 from 3. The 3 turnovers were not good, but if he’s a primary ball handler in the regular season the team has problems. He could end up being a solid addition.
Sasha is limited. My hopes and expectations for him have diminished greatly. On the offensive side, no problem. His ability to put up shots quickly is there and he’s got a lot of creativity on the offensive end. He’s definitely a bucket getter. Unfortunately he’s a short limbed big headed guy so while he may be 6’9″ on paper, his shoulder height and limb length make him more like 6’6″. In addition his defensive fundamentals look bad. He stands way too upright and is slow footed. He’s going to get absolutely exposed on that end. I’ve gone from hoping he’d be a great missing piece and could even challenge for a starting role to thinking he’s a situational player that gets minutes when the Kings need someone to make buckets and can afford a defensive liability. I love him on one end and really worry about him on the other end. He’s looking like a lesser version of Doug McDermott.
Javale is Javale. Nothing to say here. I liked the effort for the most part and he does provide what we think he provides and has the limitations we think he has. He is what he is. I’m not sure he’s an upgrade over Len TBH.
The Kings are not running out their full offense and are obviously tinkering with things to see what works or doesn’t work and what skills are real. Unfortunately they are finding more things that don’t work than do, and more skills that aren’t real than are (other than Keegan’s development). I’m not too worried about the game outcomes but at the same time they haven’t looked good. Even in preseason the Kings starters should have easily run up the score on a Lakers squad without Bron, AD, or Reeves. Instead, they got beaten with every starter having a negative in the +/- and Fox and Sabonis were both -12 in 24 minutes. Not good.
He’s looking like a lesser version of Doug McDermott.
Yikes.
I wasn’t able to watch either game, but from what I’ve read it still sounds like the Kings are a wreck on the defensive end. It makes me wonder if Monte is still keeping tabs on OG in Toronto.
I thought Kessler Edwards looked encouraging defensively, with a little offense thrown in. He’s still young and may develop into a reliable rotation player.
Yes…pretty agree with what aplumley said about Sasha….he is way too slow to keep up the pace of the the game…
And I would rather like what Daydreamer said, play Edwards, even in front of Sasha. As Edwards is a very strong rebounder, and very good defender..which both area that we lacks of…
So, let Edwards to the 10/11 man…rather than Sasha
I actually like Dougy McBuckets so it isn’t that big of a disparagement. But I thought the comp was decent in that their height overstates their size and both are solid offensive players. Doug might be the better defender (seriously) but Sasha the better offensive player.
Thanks for the observations. Yeah, like you said, I know it’s only two games in preseason, and I usually don’t care about outcomes (we won a lot of preseason games last year and then started 0-4, so things can change), but it seems like what I’m reading is that the Kings are still not showing a lot of improvement on the defensive end. Hopefully things can start gelling together soon.
Here. We. Go.
Good evening, Mr Vezenkov.
Is the game on tv?
NBA TV for out of market kg.
Not if your in Sacramento, because….stupid reasons….
What a bunch of (probably can’t say it here). I guess I’m listening to the radio broadcast on kings.com. Hope they don’t pull this during the regular season.
Hearing Gary Gerald’s voice is like Christmas
My stream is only audio?
Same
JaVale McGee revenge game.
Sasha in the starting 5 tonight.

Davion enters the game. he’s a player
2 possessions, and he forced two turnovers
This might be a big year for Davion.

wouldn’t be surprised if Colby Jones jumps ahead of him on the rotation, sort of taking both Delly’s role and TD’s role.
Well it’s on YouTube but has a transparent big picture of Fox and LeBron in the middle of the screen
Colby Jones has a good energy out there.
The starters come in, and everything just seems right again. Then the bench steps to the sideline.
The second unit I’d like to see is
Mitchell
Monk
Colby
Vezenkov
Lyles
Vezenkov with a Dirkesque fadeaway from 10 feet.
He’s getting buckets off sheer confidence and muscle memory. He’s gonna learn this offense and become an unreal weapon for this team.
Yeah, I think he’ll be a player.
that was some good Cole slaw for 2 seconds to close the half.
D-Lo just loves playing against the Kings.
Monk still can’t play against the Lakers in L.A.?
We are not in LA.
Anaheim, close enough
Only preseason, of course, but the Kings aren’t looking so hot so far. A lot of sloppiness and not a lot of defense.
I’m starting to see why Dallas let McGee go.
He’s trying to do too much.
Not a fan of him sitting back on the Lakers side of the court watching the offense play 4 on 5, though. I’m not sure he’s cut out for the fast pace. .
Kings struggling against G-League players.
To be fair, outside of Davion we have G League players out there, too.
But we didn’t for a long stretch!
Thanks to G-man, I’m going to start calling him Vashenkov, too.
Slawson still needs to take more pride in making crisp accurate passes.

yes….I just don’t see where the “bump” is, according to Mike Brown…
The defense still sucks, and our players did not “bump” on the opposing team//
