In theory, I see no reason Queta can’t be the perfect Sabonis backup. In theory.
I think that’s what they are trying to figure out before they move Holmes. Do they like what they are seeing from Queta? Or do they really believe he’s not that close yet? Eh, who knows?
It’s a much better problem to have than what the Kings have dealt with in previous years.
Correct me if wrong, but with Queta being on a two-way contract, he is limited in the number of games he can play with the varsity team; and there’s some playoff restrictions also?
IF he is the guy, they’d still have to play someone else for a good # of games, or sign Queta to a non-two-way deal.
You’re not wrong, but Queta can play in 50 NBA games as a TWC player. Also, the Kings can convert his contract from a TWC into a standard contract so that’s not going to be a big issue unless Queta’s agent doesnt want him to sign a deal at all this year.

De’Aaron Fox’s FT% is now over 80% on the season FWIW. 80.8% after going 8-8 from the line in the 1st half. That’s awesome for the Kings. Especially since he was 1-4 and 0-2 from 3 in that half.
